Folks,

I'm waiting on my XL2 to run at 6S with a Leopard 5692. Some people have said it's very important to run an external BEC rather than use the internal one which is likely to burn out.

Just wanted to know how many people are using BECs when running at 6S?

I have a spare Turnigy 7.5A BEC that says it is good for up to 10S from a Heli build. Is that going to be enough to run the receiver and stock steering servo?

Cheers

I'm going to run the "Castle Creations CC BEC Pro 20A 12S Switching Regulator". With the programmer I should be able to set it up correctly. However - I have yet to receive it. I would run the BEC anyway to releave some presure of the ESC (even the stock one).

Why don't you run the stock ESC with that motor on 6S? I've read that the XL2 is more suitable running 8s.

Nothing wrong with a bit of head room on the xl2, 6s is fine.

I think the XL2 is more configurable, what with torque and current control, so I would prefer to run it with the 5692 rather than the stock HW.

@Jathomas3 : I think my turnigy BEC outputs 5V or 6V at 7.5A. I've no idea of the amp draw on the stock steering servo.

Thanks all
