this is my mates maverick vader brushless we have been modding
first thing we done was ditch the stock motor for a castle big block from the traxxas xo1 this involved drilling the motor mount to accept the bigger bolt size this was a easy mod and very worth while
then came the hpi wheel adapters and tarmac busters only mod needed was again drilling out the centre hole from 8mm to 10mm again a simple job and worth doing as theres not much choice in wheels and tyres plus the stock wheels are not great
then the stock 150a esc packed in so along came a monster toro 200a esc a real bargain found on amazon in the uk for £66 +postage brand new this esc looks great very nice bit of kit 200a with 1000a burst only downside is no bec but again simple job
this job wasn't pleasant the diff's are full of oil/grease of which ive never seem before its like bubble gum and a pain in the rear to clean its like glue the front diff was far to stiff making the car real hard to turn it just wanted to push on instead of turning in,, but after the diff's rebuild and a bit of good old Castrol grease it no spins free well worth doing ive not done the rear yet I want to see how it handles leaving that one stiff
im not a big brushless fan its not the same without the noise or smell of 2 stroke but having said that its advantage is no complaints of noise,,
we've not had chance to run it yet with the new esc setup waiting on a program card but heres some pics for you milk float lovers
