While perusing Innovative RC's website,I noticed that their "exclusive" MCD Stadium truck is shod with what appears to be FG wheels.Any reason why those same wheels wont fit on the Evo III Baja 1000?

They will work on a EVO III but some modification to the rim needs to be done. They provide very poor traction, and the backspacing is all wrong, and IMO they look funny on a MCD.

Thats a shame about the backspacing.I kinda like the looks of em.They're kinda pricey too.I just find the HPI Baja wheels to be kinda bland and maybe a tad narrower than I like.

Check out this thread http://www.mcdrc.com/forum/index.php?topic=630.0 there is a picture of a Baja 1000 with Baja 5b rims, looks mean.

Yeah I saw that yesterday...definately a tough looking stance. Those HPI wheels seem to have quite the offset as well. Those sand paddles can be had for $29/pair on fleabay and the wheels themselves are pretty cheap as well.

FG Stadium wheels

I just received my first MCD yesterday a Baja 1000 EVO3 sport I also like the look of the FG stadium truck wheels on the Baja 1000. I tried to fit one of my old FG monster wheels on the Baja 1000 to see if it would work before purchasing the stadium wheels but was unable to fit the wheel nut on the axle due to not having enough of the threads stick out. Im open for suggestions, what mods must be performed to make them fit correctly. Thanks in advance:helpsmilie:

The Proline desperado for HPI Baja wheels look the best on the MCD Baja 1000 IMHO.. I did that to mine and it is killer..

To modify the wheels. You use a flat broaching tool & remove material from the front side of the wheel where the lug nut will hold the wheel on. Don't use a drill bit as the surface left will not be flat allowing the lug nut to hold the wheel on properly. Other option is to get older style MCD long axles & switch them out, don't know how well they will do on the front turning wheels in a hard turn though. We have modified a couple sets of FG wheels for this application.
