MCD XR5 vs RR5?

Hi everyone,

Lately been looking at MCD. Stuck between an XR5 and RR5.

Are there pros and cons between the two?

I’ve also heard you can convert one to the other. Is that a difficult process?

Xr5 is an on road rally and the rr5 is a buggy and off road so you need to figure out if you want dirt or asphalt

I have a Baja 5B and a Losi 5T so taking that into consideration I think I'm leaning towards the XR5.

But then that leads me to deciding between the XR5 and the XS5?

Xr5 and xs5 is the same layout just the body is different.

Oh I see. I wish we had tracks here in Southern California to race these things both asphalt and dirt.

@zxb466 there should be able to find a track, your in Cali man there's way more 5th scale stuff going on out there then on the east coast.

I’ll do some more digging and see if I can find actual 1/5 scale tracks

A call to your LHS, Amain Hobbies, Oneill Bros etc. will tell you what is currently open. Unfortunately most everything in Commifornia changes based on economy or the enviro dorks closing public land for a shrimp or bird.

From what I understand the RR5 is the most popular version which is the one I went for
