i have seen several posts about the metal wheel rings being used with the non-hpi wheels. i just received several rings from rick at spi racing. he made these for king wheels i have. they are a very good firm fit and are going to keep the wheel from splitting from too much torque. for details on these, go to the wheels and tires section.

mteal wheel rings

i don't have a picture at this time. i am out of town until later in the week and if you want one, i'll take a couple and send them off to you. not sure of his prices. he runs a full bore machine shop. appears to be tubing cut with a laser.

i'd love some pics i ran my buggy a total of 5 mins before breaking the plastic bead lock on one wheel had an aluminum set on my dirt tires and broke 2 of the inners steel would be a very nice upgrade i have some friends that are machinists and im pretty good with all that stuff but if someone is already doing it then even better, i was thinking about talking to them about making them.... i might be making my own aluminium rims but at this time i don't know yet about that still have to talk to my buddy and see if i can get on his lathe i want to build a set of solid no spoke rear wheels and get them anodized at another place i know... only thin that will make me scratch my head is the hex

i think we are talking about 2 different rings. i am referring to the rings which go around the hub, not the bead lock. these strengthen the hub area so if too much torque is on the wheel from the hex, it won't split the hub. sorry for any misunderstanding.

oh then i guess im asking my buddy to find out who in my area has a laser or water jet machine, i deffinitly want to go steel beadlocks, thinking about building a chassis out of steel aswell saves making a plastic inset peice and the whole nine ... who kbnows might post some build pics of the frame
