MOD/MIP 8 shoe clutch

Anyone have any experience or opinion on the MIP 8 shoe clutch?

I am thinking of using it with a Vertigo bell and 22t pinion along with a whole new mount and assembly… and do I need to do the diffs with anything if I up the pinion? Heavier oil?

Feel free to call me stupid if it looks like I have no idea what I am doing. Not too far from the truth.

Put in a sintered clutch like the fs never mess with it again. I’d say that’s what most of us use. All Taylor stuff comes with the fs style.

Leave the fancy clutch for the track. I'm sure it's great. An fs type clutch should last as long as the engine in a basher set up.

The FS is awesome, when I first started with the 5ive it was not around then and there was not many options. The clutch thing got tiring to say the least. Got an FS and those issues were long gone, only problem for me now is the springs get tired and the engagement rpm drops off and kills the bottom end. So get some extra springs, I usually go though one about every couple gallons of gas.

I have the MOD clutch currently in my Baja. I’ve used in my 5T as well. It’s a great clutch but expensive if you’re just bashing. FS are hard to beat for the cost.

I love the mod clutch and run them in most of my rigs. Mod is the only clutch I’ll run but I’d probably recommend an Fs clutch to someone else.
