Cheers m8.
Well ......
I bought an Integy (!!!!!!!!) HD (??) silver alloy gearbox and a GH gearbox cover, plus the Traxxas TRX3350X BL ESC / 3500kV BL motor .....
The film you saw was only after I'd fitted the bearings instead of the bushings, so I suppose it was slightly faster.
With local pressure, all hopups have been fitted.
I couldn't remove the pinion on the standard motor, so had to install the high speed spur and pinion.
Well .....
It's flamin' ballistic !!!!!
I tried loosening off the slipper and that's just going to burn out, so I have to 'unleash the power' slowly to keep the front down, even with the stock 8.4V stock 7-cell NiMH battery.
It must be topping 40mph !!!!
Battery gets a little warm, cables cold, motor cold, ESC very slightly warm!
Even on 'Training Mode' it must be close to the stock one - as you saw in the film.
I'm sincerely hope I can remain honest to my son and he'll receive his 5th birthday present at the end of September :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:rolleyes:

This is a fantastic little truck - thoroughly recommend it to anyone!!
It is a little bouncy, but is likewise very stable - 'though perhaps not now!!

My son has a couple of 'kid's RC' cars, and is generally quite good, even if the antenna gets a hammering sometimes and the local 'friends' are not that careful!!
Decided I'd take advantage of being in the USA for a few weeks and have purchased his September 5th birthday present a little early - just over half the price of UK!!

I selected the Grave Digger, which he really likes. The truck's great, and of course I'll definitely NOT get any hop-ups, as it's only going to be run on half power for the first year :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:rolleyes:
Already received it, and have had it blasting outside the lab up here in thawed out Fairbanks - great fun!!!
They say they can hit 30mph - mmmhhh, perhaps.
They say if you replace the ESC and motor with 'option TRX3350X' and use a 3S LiPo, it'll top 65mph ....... :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D;)
You have to, don't you - got one cheap. $117.50 for the 3350X instead of $155.00 !!
Won't be installed for a while ?????????????????????????????????????? !!
Al.

TRX3350X was bought for $117.50+$10.00 P&P = $127.50 / 1.63 = £78.22.
Modelsport UK have them listed as £169.00 :p

the difference in price between the two countries is unreal. makes you wonder how our country has survivied from being so expensive for everything!

i bet you end up buying another traxxas grave digger for your son, and keep this one for yourself LOL.. I bought my son a Losi Minimonster Baja Beetle a while back, it's great! I really enjoy blasting it about.. he doesn't get a look in :w00t:

Grave Digger has arrived in Sunny St Helens!!!
Fortunately son, and wife!! were sleeping, so I managed to enter, reassemble and put into the garden shed out of the way 'until September' !!

I'll have a little go this week when he's away at pre-school of course!!
Al.

Looks good Al although I cant help thinking you should have bought 2  You will have burnt this 1 out by the time September comes  My 3 have a lunchbox each & love them. Anything like this is a great way to get them into the hobby properly and at that age they soon get the hang of the controls. FG MT for his 10th birthday?? :w00t:

Reality Check - Size Does Matter !!!

Just got back and couldn't resist comparing the Grave Digger against my FG MT !!
Unfair I know! :D:D:D:D:D
If you think the body's sitting a little strangely, you're right. I'd dropped the body posts for transit in the suitcase - no breakages or anything. The body was stored separately - packed with clothes, and wrapped for protection.
No problem.
