More Top End on Losi 5?

I have a question: What size pinion gear for losi 5 gives you more top end? Also, which gives you more torque?

Does a smaller pinion give me more power? What is best for Bashing? What is best for Racing?

Seems like an inexpensive upgrade for more speed...

What else can I do to increase low end power and get more top end?

what pipe are you running and install a 2 speed will give you more torque and speed. as a general rule you lower the amount of teeth will give you more torque the higher teeth count will give you more top end speed.
 
The best analogy I've heard is think of your 10 speed bicycle. In 1st gear (few pinion teeth and lots of spur teeth) you can top out in 2 pedals and climb a mountain. In 10th gear (more pinion teeth than spur teeth) you can haul tail but can't climb a hill. I run in a grassy field with my 5ive and there is only a couple acres so I dropped my gear down 1 tooth on the pinion. I couldn't really notice a difference in top end but this lets the engine hit the powerband sooner to make up for the drag on the chassis. The best thing is just pick up a pinion or 2 and play around. It is all about preference.
