Hey guys and gals.

OK, so I purchased a MT Pro V3 recently, along with upgrades. One of the upgrades is a Flowsystem 36cc ported engine 38mm bore x 32mm stroke. My question is, what Carb to use, and why? I have seen ported race carbs, carbs with accelerator pumps etc.. Also, a bit confused by the numbers and what the mean. Does a larger number designate a higher flow rate? Anyway, my goal is to maximize power, good throttle response etc.. A choke is not necessary really in the decision factor.

True life experiences are what I'm after. I have read alot, but talked to few about the subject

Any advise or opinions appreciated! Thanks!

Oh, running a side mount JetPro pipe if this helps.

OK, so the 990. Is this because ot is a better performer, or easier to maintain? I have found a Carb I am interested in. The wt998, I guess its a revised wt 813, with better meterimg and still has the accelerator pump minus the choke. I just have a feeling the heavier MT could benifit from the accelerator pump, due to its size and weight the added fuel would help get things moving quicker and reduce stumbling under a full throttle stab.

My only issue is the 813 carbs have throttle shaft issues from what I have read. Any thoughts?

The 990 will take out any of the lag from the low to high when you hit the throttle it will jump every time I have no experience with the 813 just from what I have read on the blogs which is the problem you have stated you will love the 990 car it is great.

the 990 and 813 are the same with one exception, the 813 has an excelerator pump to take out the bottom lag. i have both the 990 and the 813. i love the 990 but when i got the 813 i noticed a difference in performance in the bottom end and for now on it'll be all 813 for me.

Ok. So, what your saying is the accelerator pump, in your experience is noticable? I was thinking that it would be. The 998 is the same as a 813, however, they fixed some issues and rebranded it, same thing just optimized to work better and maybe they fixed the throttle shaft issues too, who knows. Either way, I will be doing a before and after video to share. I think a comparison video on a ported motor would be great. A 990 vs 998 accelerator pump carb in a ported motor.

Ok, so just installed my 998 carb to my stock motor because it showed up before my engine. I will admit, the throttle response is WAY more crisp. I can actually idle down the motor to the point it sounds good sitting there. This carb has the accelerator pump and it definately helps the engine get up and go. It is a newer Walbro and give it a recommendation!

+1 813 and not lookin back the 990 was a pain to start unless you run lowend a little rich

As far as I can tell it is the same as the 813. I can't find any info to say otherwise. All the specs are identical.

For the 36cc, Flowsystem has tried the 813 and would not recommend it on any tuned pipe application. The 813 was developed for muffler engines, to fool the engine into thinking it has a tuned pipe.

. Really happy with it! I have a 990 too but Im not going to use it, the 998 seams to be the best other then a ported carb.

It is a re-metered and optimized 813. You would be pleased if you have the 13. Im also using the JetPro sidemount pipe, wholly cow man..

I have read that. Im looking for torque to pull a taller gear really. Thats why im putting the 36cc Flowsystems race motor in ;)
