just put my new speedpassion 1/5 scale motor in my xbe. sinfully fast and cool: there is a built in motor fan. Having some trouble replacing the motor mount cover without rubbing the gears. Anyone run without it (the black plastic mount cover)? My 1/8 cars don't have sealed gear boxes. thoughts?
 
I would definitely keep it, there is a lot of wiring in that area. Just trim as little as possible away from the pinion area as you can get away with.
