Motor oil filled shocks.

Ok i filled my shocks with motor oil. I know that you should use silicon oil but i was in a hurry. And 1 has a leak anyway so i need to repair them properly when i get the time. Has anyone used motor oil to fill there shocks. Did it last or should i get to hobby shop asap before i have s%#t every where.

a lot of baja guys in the uk and australia use motor oil for their shocks, or at least so I've read, with no incidents

Yeah a mate of mine has a HPI 5b that he told me he filled with motor oil and has had no probs but i was after more thoughts about it. Just great to get different opinions thanks count .

Ok like petro based oil or synthetic? Cause i have a lot of 20w50 royal purple synthetic from when i had my tl1000r

i used motor oil in my mt shocks... worked fine for me.
