my motor ran once and then it died and then i couldnt start itno matter what the settings. i have spark but my air filter is soaked with gas. what is going on does anyone know like a definate diagosis or any other ideas? please i only ran it once.thanks

Not sure about the filter being soaked in gas, unless it was upside down for a little while. Pull your spark plug and see if its wet, if it is then the motor is flooded. If flooded, dry the plug off and reinstall it, turn the low and high needle all the way in and crank the motor until it fires. It should then die off, then reset your screws to 1 1/4 turns. Don't prime it or choke it, just try to start it again. I usually feather the throttle while trying to start it after that. It should fire.

OH, and make sure to use a good spark plug, trash the torch plug it came with.

when it did run the first time it ran ok but i noticed that it was getting hot like 285f. so i tried to tune it and it didnt help so i looked up factory settings and the setting say 1 1/4 lsn and 1 1/2 hsn but my carb was like 1/2 lsn and 3/4 from the factory and would not run with factory settings. so i set it back and it fired and ran like it was rich for about 1min then died like it was not getting gas or spark all of the sudden.and now it doesn't even spit or notting.

yeh but it ran the first time fine on the settings stated above. so the motor running that lean of setting there has got to be something else wrong.right?

it was too lean which caused the high temps, but that doesn't mean you killed it. Just try what i said and see if it fires over. That will un-flood the motor.

when the settings were that low i tried to tune it but i could only go about 1/3 turn before the moto ether died or it would run way lean . i couldn't even get any where close to factory setting with out it dieing. but i did try what you said and it will not ever fart. and i do have spark.

my plug is wet though so
it must be flooded. i think i got a bunk carb or somthing because with the needles closed it sholdnt get any more fuel. what is the best way to unflood a motor?

i got it to fire!! but now i would like to know why i have to have my lsn is only 1/4 turn open?and how hot is a baja motor supposed tp be?

pull the plug, tip the car upside down and pull start it afew times then let the car sit without the plug so it can air out, also make sure the carb is installed correctly no air leaks ect set the needle's to factory settings High 1 1/2 turns from fully closed, low 1 1/4 turns from fully closed

If you have spark and fuel it now should run

Did you turn the screws all the way in and try firing it after realizing it was flooded? Also, get yourself the NGK plug. It will be a lot easier to start.
