I know there are other posts on here on how to get my motor running. I have tried everything recommended in the forums. I have compression, fuel, sufficient spark, there is no air leak. My head bolts are tight, my gaskets are all fine, I have no air leak in the carb. I have about had it with this car, I have only ran it about 15 minutes total since I bought it in July. I am at my wits end and if I can't find a cure I am going to eat the 600$ I paid for it and send it to the curb. Suggestions and tips are highly appreciated.

Is this a new truck? Is there good fuel supply? Is your tank venting? Are your air filters over oiled? Tried factory carb settings?

Yeah it's a new truck. I bought it in July. I have good fuel supply and I have the carb (wt-668) set to stock settings. 1 1/2 turn on HS and 1 1/4 turn on LS. I don't believe I over oiled the filter, just a few drops in a plastic bag was all I added. Now venting, I have no idea, it's the only thing I haven't tried. Not to be ignorant, but how do I know if my tank is venting. I also thought that maybe my spark plug (which is a NGK-CMR7H gapped at .029) wasn't getting a good enough spark so I reset the coil settings. About 7-8 times pulling it starts pissing fuel out the pipe. Driving me crazy, I just want to drive the stinking truck.

Also when I bought the truck it had a loose flywheel and all the pinion gears were loose. Plus, the original carb was crap and came with a broken float. I contacted redcat and they had one to me in 3 days. This truck has been a nightmare, I hope all this hard work pays off for me.

With that said, could it be possible that even at stock settings it's getting to much fuel? The car acts like it is getting to much fuel when it wants to starts. Especially when only after a few pulls it floods.

Do u shut the choke off when it pops? If not all u r doing is flooding it.

I suggest pull the plug turn upside down and pull the cord to get any raw fuel out let it sit for hours to dry out the cylinder and try.but choke it pull it twice and then take off choke and see what happens. I believe it will need to lean out but I believe ur flooding it on choke before it can start.

The "stock" settings were developed 10 years ago for Zenoah 668 carbs and the 26cc engine.

Redcat has not done a Gage R & R to develop new settings for the HY card and 30.5 engine.

If I were to bet, you should lean it out on both needles and wind up around 1 turn Low and 1 1/8 High.

Yeah I turn off choke when it pops. I pull about 3 times then release the choke. I am going to try to lean it out a bit per the settings rampagehopups suggested and go from there. Plus I have been pricing new motors all together. So we will see how it goes.

Another thing that worked for me when the engine was flooding and not starting was to hold the throttle all the way open while pulling the pullstart.

will not run

You might have a bad carb. Ive seen these carbs have a internal leak and cause the mix to become so rich it will not fire and will just load up the crank.
