;) If it ain't broke, bash it till it is ;)

Just cancelled my order.......just had a call from my current employers & they have put me on my notice cos the job they took me on for still hasnt kicked off

Never mind.

You guys are going to hate me .... I saw that today, and thought ... hhhhmmmm, not quite there yet .... SORRY.
Brilliant car doubtless, but give me a Pagani, or even a 2nd hand Murcielago.

Im a Porsche nut so the 959 would be high on my list for taking cars to the next level. Without that Ferrari wouldnt have needed to make the F40 so good and the tech side of it was awesome for 1986 with its fancy 4wd system and sequential turbos giving it a sub 4sec 0-60 time which even some of the modern offerings cant hit. Mmmmmm where's the bog roll :lol:

Love the concept of the 959, but it's like an extended 911, which just doesn't look right from many angles.

Agreed, 911 GT3 RS is REALLY nice, but that overhang ......

Al.

I agree on the looks, its not what you would call classic supercar, its very plain jane and the back end can look 'odd' from certain angles. The dakar 959 looks good from every angle though and the shell suits rally style better than the road going version.

the f40 and 959 are both great iconic cars and both will still give the newer stuff a good run for there money but will the modern cars still be as popular of have a place in 20-30 years on i don't think they will

Totally agreed.
F40 and 959 are real icons - saw the Top Gear twin test again just recently - dead heat in the drag race.

One reason the current breed won't be remembered as much is .... there are so many of them - just think of all of the £100k+ cars that exist nowadays, from DB9, SL55 AMG, SLS, V12 Vantage, Bentleys, Ferraris, Porkers, Paganis, Ascari, Koenniggssegggggggg's, Macca ...
Before there were 2!!

Not complaining and can but dream! 458 or Macca? Tough call and damned jealous of anyone able to have that 'dilemma'!!

EuroMillions coming up, can't wait ... !!

I saw a 458 on the M1 on Monday morning. Very nice.
Of the Ferrari's, I still think the 355 is 1 of the best looking cars ever made by any manufacturer.
I suppose you could say the Enzo and the Porsche Carrera GT are the modern day F40 and 959 though as they did take another step forward in what can be achieved.

In terms of remembering cars, the F40 and 959 will be remembered for breaking barriers and development but who will ever forget the Countach? It was the stuff of dreams, outrageous styling, it screamed power, speed, total impracticality, everything a supercar should be. Now they are designed in fancy arse wind tunnels and so most have smooth edges and rounded corners, the styling takes a back seat so the designer cant dream anymore and produce that famous poster car.
