Can some one please tell me why paint will not stick to the mt diff cover? Tried sanding, pactra paint , auto paint, i have ruined 3 so far. It either chips or peels off immediatly. What am I missing?

I had no problems with plastic paint (Valspar form Home D...but there are others)

Pactra is for Lexan and the like...Auto paint is for metal and fiberglass.

Also, I tried to lightly sand the parts first.

You can see my painted cases and other parts here:

Just curious what kind of dye you used on the Black Nylon Plastic....I was always told that nothing will dye black.
The MT cover is white, so it is dyeable.

I figured out the problem...OP was asking about painting the diff cover so that's why i posted a pic of the front of my MT...now I believe he was actually asking about the Gear Plate Cover which is indeed white and dye able but the actual diff covers (bulkheads) are black. Never hear anyone call the gears on the side a diff....

So how do you dye it? Where do you get dye? Anyone know if the rc pit stop clear lexan cover will fit over the metal gears?
