It's very frustrating as I don't mind paying more if he has it in stock but every order I've made it's followed up with a your order is on back order email.

It's getting to be a running joke with a mate of mine to see who can order from him without getting the back order email. Even now I'm waiting for a shell from him, I could get it 2 pounds cheaper if I ordered from the US but then I have the customs lottery.

At least here they tell you it's out of stock and ask if you want to back order

If I can't get stuff here then it's ebay

You're lucky you have the ebay option. I've been hankering for a different gear set up and with postage it works out nearly £300 which for an extra bit of oomph is not justifiable.

One day I'm going to holiday out in the states and come back with a suitcase full of RC parts.

What gears are you looking for?

Give me a link if possible

The individual metal ones. I did find a site with a conversion table but they won't deliver to the UK. Another site (I forget now as I've given up looking) will give me a set up for top end but that worked out to over £300 with postage.

. I know it isn't the sellers fault but getting stuff sent to UK from US can be more miss than hit.

*edit it works out £205 for 2 speed delivered but I can't risk the customs lottery.

Square drive or pin?

Try http://www.rcmodel.com.au/ or

http://www.rchobbyestore.com.au/default.aspx

http://www.rchighperformancehobbies.com.au/shop/rc-car-parts-upgrades/1-5-scale-parts/3604

I just bought a set of 29/31/26/24 from rc high performance for $44

Wow that last link is a bargain site! I paid £40 for my crown gear and it's £30 delivered from AUS??? Unfortunately I have the square gears which means paying a bit more but it's a lot cheaper than US and half the price of UK unless google currency converter is playing a spiteful game with me.

Cheers for that Phill, I never thought to look on AUS sites because aussies are always moaning about the high cost, but from the UK prospective it's very cheap. How much faster was that gear combo over stock?

About 20kph faster

It's funny but I've been to some UK sites that say in big letters

DO NOT DELIVER TO AUSTRALIA

Dunno what they've got against us

RC model (the first site) is good too

I'm pretty sure they have the square gears sold individually

Yes you're right, rc models do sell them as well. I'm going to wait for the fuel stuff to arrive and order from both sites to keep the customs charges down.

I can shed some light on postage to aus issues. It's about cost and the time it takes. Aus and Italian customs are incredibly slow for parcels to get through and our postal service won't compensate if things go missing after a certain amount of time plus there are the usual scammers who say it hasn't arrived when it has.

Thanks for clearing that up for me

I was wondering what was wrong with our money but with the UK prices I don't think I'd buy there unless it was a last resort.

We don't have customs charges here when we buy OS

Don't blame you mate, I'm not going to buy from the UK anymore either!

Still can't believe how cheap it is in AUS even if customs was 45% it's still cheaper than UK.
