just bought a mt and i love it. it is the 30 cc.. my pull start went and i don't know which one will work as a replacement. does anyone know if this motor will match up to other brand pull starts.. say off of a Chung Yang, Zenoah , or what ever hpi is running...please help...also with the 23cc or any other size red cat motor pull start work

They should be interchangeable with the cy . what happened to it?? maybe it can be a easy fix and save some cash . There is a lot of Redcat savvy people here And welcome to the forum

You have to give us the detail. Did the rope snap? Did the spring flew out? Like what they say above.... it should be interchangeable. If you are noob, you can simply buy a standard baja 5b 1/5 scale pull start and plug it in :D

No not a noob haha just a noob to this truck I've had and have just about every r/c out there.. But i don't know when I pull the starter it just slips and won't grab.. Also the string will ocassaonlly stay pulle out.. So I pulled everything apart an I can't tell what's wrong.. Everything looks fine to me.. So I was just going to buy a new one?

If you can take it off and post some pics, one of the flywheel and one of the backside of the starter, we might be able to help.

your pull stars is dirty I have that problem from time to time . Take the puller off and blow it out from the inside while pulling the rope all the way out several times or running water if your comfortable with washing out the pullstart . It works for me every time give that a try if you have it off

Na the pull starter isn't dirty. I had the same thought so cleaned every part of it super well and still have the same problem.. And the v2 is sick but I'd rather just get another 20$ pull start from my LHS.. Then put the rest of my money to speed upgrades

Rc dad I know I'm on the wrong page for this but are there any good tips for build a cage like yours.. I saw it in your build thread an I plan on building one.. I have a mig welder

Lost of patience :)

I used the MT to mock it all up and tac it all together. Use some good welding cloth to protect the truck. I used my welding apron. Chromemolly is strong and light. No special wire is needed. Welds as easy as regular steel. I did not tac up the whole cage at once. I would do a few pieces at a time and then finish the welds. I did remove and relocate pieces on a few occasions. So tac first and make sure you like it.

well crud it was worth a shot the only probs I have had with mine was dirty and the brass grommet went down the spool causing it to not re spool or not engage the flywheel

I always keep a spare pull starter. I only rebuild the TR starters. The others are disposable.
