Mt pro, steering issues

OK...


So I cant get my MT PRO to steer at all, it'll go like 1/4" each way but no more.. It seems very tough to get it to do by hand as well. I took the arms off and my servos are good but like I said hard to move by hand.. I don't see anything binding but what the hell else do I look for, I seems to check everything I can think of but cant fix it.. I cant play with this truck til this is fixed as I have no steering...

didn't quite understand, when you remove the steering links, the tires and everything moves fine?

...so you think it's the servos?? and if so, are these stock servos?
 
I have hi tech servos, when I remove the links to the servos, its hard to move the wheels to steer still...

My servos are fine, they work great when unhooked...
 
I've had similar issues in the past, exactly what you're describing. I never found the exacct problem but check the thing there with the spring on it, there's a hex bolt on top of it (not the suspension shock). I don't know what it's called but my has been very stiff in the past. Let me know if that helps......if you can figure out what I mean. ;)
 
Yeah, thats the servo saver your referring to.. Should I replace that whole unit ??
 
^^Good question. Are there bearings in there that may be bad? I think that whatever this issue is, it's caused pre-mature death of some of my servos
 
Take the tires off and loosen the steering knuckle screws(top and bottom!) a little. It should free up your steering. If not its in the servo saver area.
 
It's defiantly in the servo saver... What can go bad on/in it?? It's cheap enough to replace at least and I know my lhs has one in stock... Should I just replace it?
 
Unless they changed it, the MT servo saver doesn't have bearings. They use bushings. Also, make sure the steering linkages are not binding. I've had the problem where dirt would get into the ball links and bind them up. This happened to pretty much ever R/C I've owned.
 
I bet it just needs to be cleaned. Take it apart, clean it and lube it. While you do that, make sure the posts they ride on are in good shape.
 
Took everything off and cleaned it, Ended up being a bolt near the tire was to tight... What a pain it was to figure that out... Got it back to normal now though! :D

Now I just gotta wait for the rain to stop...

I got my TT and MT PRO a waiting!
