My friend kept on insisting the new V3 has only 1 steering servo and plastic gears. so here goes: watch this video then tell me again what you just told me. dude, shut up already :D come on over to my shop and if you want to see it in person. Am waiting!!

anyway, anyone here ever tried painting this clear gear cover? this cover is ugly and has got to go. I need tips on how to paint this plastic the right way. I'm probably the worse painter in the world. Krylon has paint spray that claims you don't need a primer to paint a plastic. So, I tried it. Cleaned the parts really well, but after 2 days the paint started coming off the plastic. Any idea from any MT owner who painted this plastic successfully?

TheNewbe, I'm really conscious with the way my voice sound dude. People tell me I sound like Michael Jackson and Mike Tyson when I'm talking :Dhehe

Yeah I know. Way too clean. I'm waiting for my AMS adapter so I can mount my FG rims. But I noticed the FG rims got a small nut to hold it plus it doesn't have a beadlock like the stock MT wheels. Plus I need 2 AMS adapter at $85/set. Am not sure if I should use it. For $10 more I can get a Jetpro and just use the stock MT rims. I'm not sure the FG tires won't come off the rims once I start shredding. What do ya think?

same here

My mt has a 30cc engine, steel gears and dual sterring servos!
Same here. That's what I keep telling my friend. I think maybe he saw the MT V1 or V2. Not familiar with V1and V2.

I know how you feel about your voice, I sound like a hick. I think the fg tires will hold for awhile but the mt tires look much better plus you could just spend the dough to buy a good pipe instead of adapters:D Glue will fail over time.

Heat up a pot of water large enough so that the gear cover can be 100% submerged. Heat it to boiling and mix the RIT Dye in it. Turn the heat off and take it off the burner. Drop the gear cover in. After a few minutes in that sub boiling water the dye will soak right in. After a minute or so take it out and look at it. It should have a blue transparent color. Put it back in for another minute if you want it darker. Keep dunking it for a minute at a time untill you get it the way you want.

They did not Market it this way BUT V3 has 26cc, Duel SS and Plastic gears.

V3.5 Has 26cc, had Duel SS and steel gears. and V4 Now has 30cc duel SS and Steel Greas :)

If your wondering where i got this INFO ASK Rob Forum Owner and My Redcat Man. :D

I bought a V3.5 is It came with the steel gears

I'd rather be a hick any day, dude. so don't feel bad. For a while I was into working out so I had good physique and as luck would have I I sound like michael jackson when he's talking, so people used to call me 'mike tyson!" You're right, I've seen a Youtube video the FG tires exploded off the rim coz' the guy was peeling out. Not good  And the only reason I want to mount it, is the "bling bling" chrome look. 2 sets of AMS will cost me $170 (there are 4 adapters in a bag, but the other 2 are useless so you have to buy 2) for $10 more I can just buy a jetpro and keep the stock MT rims. it looks more solid too.

rob call it V4

I think that's why Rob refer to it as the V4. but I suppose that wasn't the official RedCat name for it tho. So the MT V4 never caught on. But I like that name better to distingiush it from the other V3. Coz' the latest, which the one I have, has double steering, metal gears, and a 30cc motor. I'd vote for "MT V4" just to make it less confusing :D

I think I did something wrong along the way. the black RIT dye didn't get absorb by the plastic. Maybe it wasn't hot enough. Scared I might melt the plastic. Watched a lot of Youtube videos and it worked for them and they made it look easy. I'll try again, I guess. But the white plastic cover is uglier than ugly to a monkey :D what were they thinking when they decided to color this white. I know the answer is quite obvious, but I still have to ask, what about the XT cover? Can't say for sure if it will work since I sold my XT. The wife told me we can't afford 2 trucks sitting in my shop. sold my XT for $500 and she paid for the balance to buy my MT. Good deal. Guess that's why she handles our finances! :D

It's about time
