So yesterday my MTXL once again began developing horrible wheel slop in the front end. I realize the big tires are going to cause this to happen far quicker than my other vehicles, yet I still find it happens far to often. I spent the money on ceramic bearings, and honestly didn't find a great improvement in how long they lasted. I've installed DGI turnbuckles all around, have the HR servo saver, and the outer hubs come in alloy stock. What else is left to do? Anyone else hate this issue and get it sorted? Id love to hear how you did it. This is my absolute favorite rc, but this one area in this truck really sucks a big one.

Ceramic beaeing r a waste of money unless ur a hard core racer imo?..even then 99.9% wont notice the difference anyways.?...so now u need to shim out the slop...?as i did on my mtxl?
Soo ..Is ur slop in the front rims/axels/bearings/hubs? more then likely its in the whole steering/hub area all adding up to major slop☹

I learned ceramic is a waist the hard way unfortunately. Most of my slop comes from the steering assembly, the rest just from worn bearings. Ive shimmed my hubs up nice and snug, but am not sure if a better bearing exists that will last longer. Also not sure how to get the slop out of the steering assembly. Everything is tight and shimmed, just sloppy. Any good aftermarket bits?
Im not sure i described my issue well. The whole steering rack has significant side to side movement. Shims don't seem to help.

Naa imo jus go with normal bearings?...u could replace the rod ends with new ones as the plastic wares over time?...dgi's fitted..ok..?...well shim shim an shim again...?...u will never shim it all out as too many moving bits....
Even when I've fitted a full ally bellcrank set up i still had slop☹ so aslong as u gota good kg servos in there then there's not much more u can do tbh?..what servos u running?
Also i found my hub arms came loose on my mt?...that didnt help☹

Nice servos?...i run em in 2x of my 4 1/5th's?...post up pics of how/what/were u put ur rubber as it may help others on here?
Will do. Just got to source some rather stiff rubber and figure out the most appropriate place. Agree on the servos. What a diffrence from stock. No chatter, super strong. I might also try diffrent tires and rims. I have 4 proline trenchers on xmaxx rims. They're a good bit smaller but not so small they'll look foolish. Think im gonna mod the rims and see if that helps bearing life.

What evssv said. You can only take out so much shimming and using better parts. It's a RC so tolerances aren't machine spec lol. Mine was decent after the upgrades, but still had some. I just left what was there as it didn't affect it to much
