Hiya people,
I put a post up about having a head on with my MT and Beetle.I said i trashed my Multiplex servo (mis-aligned the gears).Well i took a few hours to adjust ,repair and clean the MT today and took it out ,as normal it started on the second pull and I give it 5 mins idling to let it warm up.I nursed it around for a couple of minutes and then give it some stick,i done a hard right and when I went to straighten it up the steering just wasn't having any of it:nono:.So it looks like the servo is knackered and I'm going to have to buy new (pretty pi$$ed off to say the least)
Does anyone know of a repair service or if I really have to, can anyone recommend a good servo that will turn MT wheels.
Cheers in advance.
James.

Are you sure its the servo? Send it in if it is, worst thing they can say is it will cost to much and you forget about it and buy a new servo.

The Hitec 5745MG is a good servo for the big wheels.

Phoned Multiplex servo service and the bloke said to check the potentiometer legs, apparently they come off or crack the solder joint with the vibration of the engine. So I looked at the slave board and fair enough one of the three legs had snapped at the joint,so I cut them all down and soldered three lengths of 1.5mm multicore wire to each and the other ends to the cutdown legs of the potentiometer.Slotted the lot together and lobbed a load of adhesive around the motor and pot then give it time to cure the glue,so...hopefully it will be back in my MT and getting thrashed again tommorrow!
Well, there's still life after servo death after all.:clown:
