she starts up and idles prefectly but i can only use on about a quatre throttle, any more and it bogs down badly and some times even stalls, this has been an ongoing problem and so far i have tried the following with no joy !
tuned carb starting from base settings countless times, fresh fuel ,new spark plug, checked for air leaks, stripped carb cleaned out and inspected, checked fuel line in to tank , cleaned fuel filter in tank.
i am wondering now if it is a faulty carb or is there any thing on the ignition side of things that could cause this ?
i'm running out of idears now so will be greatfull for any help

set the magneto with a business card for spacing? changed fuel lines? is there a possible hole in the primer bulb? gasket in the carb blocking the pulse port?

How old is the engine?....Does it do this when warmed up and ran for a bit?
Sounds like a tired and worn out engine....new cylinder & piston ring time..Slawhammer

have not checked the magneto, would this give this problem ? i will check it, i have checked the fuel lines and they look ok, i cant see any problem with the bulb primer it pulls up fuel no problem, as for the pulse port not 100% sure what you mean, all the carb gaskets are as standard factory fit so i assumed they were correct.
as far as the engine goes i got the car second hand and was told it had only had two tanks of fuel through it and i do beleave that as it is as new condition, i've only had it a month and it had this problem when i got it , from my experiance with mx bikes on them when the ring was fried the were a pig to start and my car starts well so i was thinking it should be ok , could be an excuse for a big bore kit thoe !

have just had a read up on pulse ports on some of the other posts, please correct me if i'm wrong , the pulse port is a small hole in the bottom of the intake face of the carb with a small hole in the gasket and insulator block to match, does the hole go in to the cylinder ? if this is right then i know there was no second hole on my intake gasket but i don't remember seing a hole in the insulator block , do they all have a pulse port ?

i've just had the card off of the mut again and turns out the pulse port was blocked buy the gasket , when i got the car the guy said he had just fitted the new air filter and it needed tuning, turns out he had put the gaskets on the wrong sides of the carb with the one with the pulse port holes on the air filter side , i cant beleave it was that simple ! have not tried it yet as i am going to get some new gaskets so fingers crossed .
thanks for all the replies , turns out you got it spot on

we all need another set of eyes sometimes. I installed a piston backwards a few months back and it was someone else noticed. I was cocky about it too. they asked if I had started before we went to play and I said, come on, it'll run, I built it... yup ate those words haha

at last ! got the new gaskets on the mut today and took it out in the car park for a spin and tune up, and wow what a shock . its the first time its ran right since i got it ,i've had plenty of nitro and electric cars in the past but this is a real handfull, its great !
its running perfectly now so thanks for all your advice, i didnt think there could be much wrong with it but would have spent forever trying to find this problem so thanks guys
next in line for my mut is to find some shocks that actually work !
