Thanks. Ya I scored. and I was only looking for an fg chassis for my offroad and found a few sellers with a ton of items.... I saw that on road chassis and he had 3 for sale the same... that one came with the semi bumper and side mounts. others had steering pieces etc... so I bid on one. then decided I would bid minimum on a bunch and see what I would end up with. turns out I won a lot more auctions than I had expected tbh...

you get lucky once in a while. I bid on 18 auctions and won 14. I expected maybe 3 or 4.
I now have 4 complete 1/5's minus some servos, and a 5th chassis and most parts to make my brushless semi... one car is sold locally though as soon as I get the parts here to finish it. I have to add more shelving in here as it is. no way 5 will fit in here. and it's the only way I can get more guys into on road it seems. same deal with the motorcycles... I have to build and set them up usually before people will dive in. need to see and try first to see how cool it is

going to take an fg chassis to a local that is making baja chassis for super reasonable prices. see if he can punch a few out.

Just picked up a Sambe 3 pipe to play with now

lovely pipe u got there :) its actually a samba 4
Samba range

Thanks for the info. I was going by what he advertised it as. I just thought it looked cool and new sambas were good pipes. I just know it will fit in my truck... well I combined all the pics of goodies coming and made a post locally, so just going to toss them here as well, with the pipe version corrected of course hehe

Well here we go.

Down to 3 FG's now, 2 with motors. I sold the MT and pipe, and traded off the other on road.... I have found ebay uk and life has changed hehe. I just can't seem to stop buying things.

my semi doesn't need much of anything really. it handles and drives so well. mostly just adding bling now, though there can be performance increases. I got this handle. one it makes it easier to carry the truck, but it also protects the engine as a roll bar.

This chassis will look aweful sweet on there too

Got the back body mount covered as well, so just pop the driveline in basically

And this leaves me the stock chassis with mounts and bumper to create a semi chassis for my brushless project. I just need some front arms and a dif to complete it. I can make a servo tray.

I haven't neglected performance either. Samba 4 pipe should make it rip.

I'll start a build thread on my fg off road, but some of these parts are going on that, some on the brushless semi. I have to decide what goes where when it's all laid out and I experiment a bit.

My FG offroad is going to be a Marder Beetle. It will sleek it down a bit and I like the wing on back. It also has an undertray that serves as wheel wells and such to keep things clean. I am using buggy tires I have here on it, which are exactly the same rim size as the semi on road tires.... I'll explain as I babble along and show pics...

I have an fg chassis and to put on I have a front end allready built with aluminum bulkheads, alum knuckles and alloy brake kit installed. just has to be bolted to the chassis and shocks installed. It has firehammer mt arms which are wider than fg, for now anyway as I have about 4 sets. I have a 26cc complete to the layshaft gear to toss in, and a blue aluminum small motor mount to add. The rear end is complete aside from the dif (I have fg outdrives, and axles, firehammer mt dogbones and arms). I have 2 fg tanks sitting here just needing fuel tube and the rubber stopper. I'll be making my own stoppers and clunks for them. This completes the rear end

Here's the funky servo tray I found and an alloy servo saver

This is the Beetle's pipe, I just bought today. Victory pipes are supposed to be beasts. I love the raw look.

I have 4 long fg shocks sitting here and complete, but I also have 8 of these coming

And I haven't decided which rc is getting thee front and rear shock towers yet

"... I have found ebay uk and life has changed hehe. I just can't seem to stop buying things."

Ha ha...we are in the same boat Barry!

Had to post some pics. mainly was to get them all in one place so I could see what I have coming and decide what else I would need. Have to slow down now though as I spent too much lol. Until next payday anyway. Nice to be debt free. I can spend money I have on rc's and not worry too much.... other than running out of money...

and in 3 weeks I am going to order the 4wd conversion for the beetle. then I can toss semi tires on and take it on road as well. so adding what goodies to what ride will depend on info I am waiting for about what is incl in the 4wd kit.

the brushless semi is to run with my friends at their electric only track. we had talked about doing 8th scale conversions but that is at least as expensive as doing a 5th scale. once they drive mine, they will build them too. once they have gotten them built, they can bring them out to our weeknight on road meetings which increases the number of drivers... it's all about perpetuating the hobby, just doing my part (at least it gives my addiction some validity)

Well here is my experiment. FG MT arms and shock tower on an on road. it now has 8 shocks. I just got everything mounted up and had to change ball ends and such. I can dial it in a bit later...

I moved the front shocks in one hole to gt more lean angle and it's better but am drilling a new hole today to lean them more. it is working out to be a decent setup. I should get out and run it soon and see.

My Samba pipe arrived today and I love it. Looks almost brand new.... other than a little dent where the exhaust comes out. I should be able to fix that though. besides it's on the bottom

We ran tonight. It was getting cold and started to spit a bit of rain when we were done so we got lucky. Was a lot of fun. I finally met up with someone I have been emailing with about running and turns out I did know him from many years ago. He has a crap load of tires for sale and one guy bought a set.

The new setup was ok, but I seriously need stiffer springs to run this setup. I am pretty sure tmaxx springs will work. For a weeknight an hour out of town, we had 6 show up, which I figure is pretty good. And I dropped off a body to the guy that bought my other on road a couple weeks back and he's looking forward to running. Next weekend meet should see about 12-15 guys. That's going to be the best turnout of the year!!. It's looking good for 5th scale around these parts and more are wanting to join. Guess I better build another on road to sell ;)

To get the shocks to lay down I had to cut the top arms up. then I carved the excess off the tower eith a dremmel. I'll clean the cut up some more, this was just the big cutting disc. Looks much better laying down. and doesn't sit so high up.

Finally have a dremmel working so ripping apart the 2 speed tonight to fix that. Still no parts so tinker what I can

once my chassis arrives finally, I will be going back to my original setup, but I had to figure out if these shocks would work like this. I also have a stiffer set of springs enroute from taiwan. as they sit it is too soft for on road. This is basically setting up chassis 4, which I will sell/trade locally to get another person involved with us.

Today I have the day off, so am rebuilding an mt from a box of parts and I should have some things arrive in the post to build more on this chassis and my vw. Sickboy is shipping out my vw body, and I just requested a carbon wing for the vw plus an mt body. and I have a set of lst shocks to modify onto the mt. I needed something to build ;) gotta have my fix

waiting for things to arrive kind of put a hold on my projects. the one order has taken over 7 weeks now.
