So, my buddy bought a new Losi DBXL. He is telling my that his battery only lasts for about a tank of gas. I have a HPI Baja 5SC and I know I can go threw at least two tanks, probably more. Is this right for his Losi battery to only last for a tank before having to charge it up? Is there an upgraded battery if so, which one is recommended? Any help would be appreciated.

The stock battery is kind of useless. 1 tank and its done.
Upgrade to a lipo.
Killerrc.com has lipos and the taller battery box for the dbxl.

Lipo battery is an excellent upgrade. Can get a bit pricey being you'll need a lipo charger as well if you don't already have one. I just rigged my FG with a 7.4v 5000mah lipo and I would assume I'd get a few hrs at least out of it. Now I don't have a dbxl so not familiar with what servos come with it but unless the specs specify it can run at 7.4v you will need to get a 6v regulator. 6v is what I believe all analog servos and most cheaper servos run on...... Also there are voltage meters available for just a few bucks that will let you know when it's time to recharge, no guessing.
