So I have been looking for a good pipe that runs straight back, obviously, no luck for the MT truck. So, looking at the Factory Tuned pipe that came with my PRO, I came up with an idea. I decided to cut the bends out of the pipe and connect the expansion chamber to the two bolt flange. I used a 1.5inch piece of hose to connect them (temporarily until I can get some HT silicone tubing). I did not want to weld them, to avoid rigidity, that way in an accident it will come apart at the coupler instead of snapping welds..

I took the straight piece out of the bent tubing and welded it to the back of the pipe after cutting off the turn down from the factory. It pokes out of the body about 1/4inch. No pipe in the way and looks clean.

You will have to cut the shock brace in order for the pipe to fit under the body. I also put heat proof rubber in between the rear body mount and pipe to keep it from moving and act as a thermal barrier..

This pipe ROCKS, It exceeded all expectations. It sounds good and the engine runs good with it. Alot of response and RPM over the old version and my side mount Jet pro. The pipe inlet was ported to increase flow and the pipe was opened a bit more to work with the higher power output of the Ported 36cc I just installed.

Here is a vid of the project nearly done, and a pic to see the body exit.

Thanks Cordy!. There is a video posted on Youtube now Gregg. I can take pics as soon as I get some silicone tubing that way it can be seen complete and how I imagined it.

Hope you didn't kill the functiality by switching the way the pipe was designed.. im sure whatever tuning there was, is gone now. The length of pipe before the chamber plays a role in the back pressure. You've taken that away..looks nice though

The truck has not suffered from what I can tell. Very responsive and it sounds like it stays on the pipe harder then before with more RPM over the pipe in stock form.. I cant say it will work good on the smaller stock motors, but this 36cc monster loves it. It works better then my Jetpro pipe from the way the truck acts now, better power band range.. Its a cheap alternative, thats why I made it. The pipe works great and for what, 60 bucks? You cant go wrong. I will post a driving demo, sounds mean when it is opened up!

I don't have a Dyno to prove anything, just my Eyenometer to guage visual performance :p ;)

a vid would be great. also of one of it going through the power band w/the truck on a stand. i love ingenuity & triftyness so i applaud your efforts. just from the vid it didn't sound like it had much back pressure, which to be honest, isn't what you want at high rpm's anyway. :)

Thanks for the comment

Yes, I will soon. Need to " Polish " a few details and I will get a video up of it running hard. This 36cc does not rev as high as the 30cc, however it has more displacement in the bore so it makes good use of this pipe.

It can rev.

Eric with Flowsystem can get them to 18k with their pipe. Sounds incredible!

Sorry, I should of clarified. I was comparing a short rod motor to the 36 long rod when I said it wont rev as high. Comparing the two motors is like comparing a 350 and 454 Chevy . One will rev to the moon, while the other will pull trees out of the ground with earth shattering torque lol. Long rod motors will never rev as high as short strokers, without a ton of money in the lower end, they will blow up. Unfortunately, two strokes to my knowledge do not have billet connecting rod upgrades :p

Im going to do a free rev movie tomorrow to hear the powerband in action.

I have the same pipe on mine.Curious how my pipe was cheaper here in Aus than it is for the US. mine was $45. lol.

I might try it & let you know if it makes any diff to a stock motor.

If not, i plane on buying a ddm pipe anyhow.

I think your currancy is worth more lol. I think it is worth the chance, won't know unless you try. Be sure to leave a decent amount of pipe on the flange end so the coupler will have a good seal. Also cut the pipe right where the large expansion chamber is connected to the bent tubing from the engine. I will try to post some pics of ot broken down.

Yeah it was higher, UNTIL YESTERDAY!!! lol.

Worked out well, my MT was cheaper than i have seen them anywhere in the US. The joys of e bay. Pretty sure the guy is importing them himself. He has ALL the parts & hop ups for them. I have 2 guys i buy RC stuff from on e bay, who ever is cheapest at the time gets my cash.

I looked into importing them myself. Hard to commit to the min order ( 10 ) cost 1st time out. I could get them for less than $ 500 each for the PRO version.

Dude that's dirt cheap! I love my eBay for shopping. Its funny how I can order from China and receive my goods quicker then in the states!

Thanks for the comments. I will update this soon with vids and when the truck is complete. This pipe has the most aggressive sound that I have heard from these small motors, pretty awesome.

Here is the Final product. It looks great, here are some pics to. In the video I did not rev it all the way out, for obvious reasons, but you can tell it has alot left. When my wife has time, I will get a bash vid up.
