Hi all

Recently i have found that my truck just wont run at all correctly unless i rev the buggery out of it!!!! When i try to leave it to idle it eventually dies. And the needles do not a lot to affect it. I am up to speed with setting these as have adjusted them countless times before, with good effect.

I have an DDM Mid High pipe fitted. Last time i was trying to get the beast to run, i noticed that on the side mounting bracket the bracket has split away from the exhaust, leaving a long slit where it was welded. AN open hole in the side of the exhaust in other words.

WOULD THIS AFFECT THE NAFF IDLE OF MY ENGINE??????

I have a new carb fitted just one month ago which has been fine.

Yes it will affect it.Is it the resonance chamber that you have split? Take your carb off and check for blown gaskets as well as checking around the head gasket for leaks.New fuel, check pipes, clean filter, new plug.Try them and then see how you are.

also try pluging up the hole in the pipe with somthing tempary then you will know for sure then you can get it welded up or just get it welded any way its not meant to be split it wont cost much just take it somewere that does weldind its cheaper than a new pipe plus i doubt you want to put the stock pipe back on it

The split should not effect the motor that drastically unless its wide open. My dom had a crack for some time before I welded it and never effected the idle. It did effect the oil that covered the side of the model though. The crack is there from bashing and hitting the pipe on the ground. The force is put on the side mount. You say you changed the carb. Was it running fine before that?
