Looks like a great setup. And you got that at Harbor Freight?

Wow them too.mulepic said:I'll get back to the build here in the next couple of days. I'm pretty bummed out about the track going down. My wife reminded me it would have been worse if I went through this build and missed last Saturday. Tonight I was going to head to SRS for practice but I was told on the phone they've not had the track opened on Friday nights all summer. I know that's BS b/c I've been there this summer a couple of times.....typical hobbyshop attitude.
Look forward to it.mulepic said:I'll get back to the build here in the next couple of days.
1. belt drive: the pulleys show up on tuesday and the belts on Friday
2. 2nd power supply shows up tomorrow, I just need to rewire it.
4. 3-jaw chuck and other tooling showed up today
5. Capacitors show up on monday, I should be able to solder those in that day
6. The motor heat sink still needs to be finished, maybe this weekend I'll get that done.
Go big or go home! The capacitors showed up as well, Digi-key rocks. The caps are bigger than any I've ever seen in RC. I need to solder them in parallel and hook them in the power wires of the ESC.
Sounds good! Is the fan going to be blowing on the motor or the heat sink?mulepic said:Yesterday the 2nd power supply showed up. I was able to play around w/ bulk charging. It's a little scary at first but I'm confident I can make it safe. I was able to hook up the two PSUs up in series to get 50v and put out 20A connected to the 2x6s packs in series i.e. 12s=50v. I only had it hooked up for a few minutes to make sure nothing caught on fireI'll make it a nice easy package to work with eventually.I also made a little progress on the motor heat sink. It's going to be just 2 fins w/ the fan mounted in the middle of them. I hope to get that done in the next couple of days.
