Just recived my first Futaba today :D

Its a Aus deleivered 3PKS, purcahsed second hand from a forum member. Going by the box its got FASST and came with a Futaba PK-FSM module.

Considering ive used a DX3S all my rc life i know absolutley nothing about Futaba, can someone recomend me a receiver to use with my new radio. I run all digital servo's in my rc's.

Ill get some pics up tommorow.

Thanks

I've got the same radio 3pks, I'm using the R603FS receivers. Excellent radio system. If your running all digital servo make sure it's set to HRS mode, If your running a mix of anolog and digi's run it in PPM mode.

I normally ran with specktrum back a few years ago and was a firm believer in them and then when the futaba 4pk came out I wanted to try it so bad I saved enough cash up and bought one about a year or so ago and I just love it. The instruction manual is a bit overwhelming at first but it gets better with time and now I wouldn't trade it for the world..best radio I've ever owned. Just give it some time and I think you like it better also. Best of luck to ya

after about an hour with the manual which is overwhelming at first I figured how to change model names and add new models (switching between rc cars) but what I cant figure our is how to get to the HRS/PPM screen, someone help please :D

the relevant section of the manual for this doesn't help much, shows how to change it when your in there but I cant find the screen to get in there?

hi just wondering am i aloud to coment here as im new thoght ill share my thoughts with you on the futaba radios ?

this tread court my eye,im vey familiar with fubata range, never any other brand.

they are top quality radios and very easy to get around your particilur models is very good as it comes with the fast system as a spectrum system plus the settings are really easy to use they have alk the other tech just like the spekky im sure you know about that.. mine is a slightly older model, ive had it for 2years know and i haven't had a single problem personally i think futaba is the best the latest model would kick spectrums ass any day.

bud check tge futaba website uts very helpfull and user freindly hope this helps... i must sleep know as its getting really late bye.

sorry about the spelling mistakes im typing off a nintendo ds xl

On the home screen push the jog button then press the + button, that will get you to the second menu screen, you'll see the P-MOD down the left column. to change from PPM to HRS hold both the + - buttons at the same time. Hope this helps :)

just purchsed a R603FS from feelbay, $80 delivered! Brand new! don't think ill be able to do any better than that!

finally ill be able to try out the futaba!

Ok im new to Futaba, got a 3PKS and a R603FS reciever. I am having trouble setting the failsafe. Ive been told to put it in HRS mode which it is, but the manual says failsafe is not available on HRS and only on PCM.

So should I change it to PCM or is there another way of setting a failsaife in HRS?

Application is a largescale FG so i don't want to run it without a working failsafe.

Thanks

ok ive been told that fail safe will work in HRS mode but I need to activate IIRC which I cant work out how to do, been in the manual for over half an hour now and no mention of it, someone help please!

You can set the fail safe on the receiver when running in PPM mode, if you want to use the fail safe in HRS mode it has to be set through the menu on the transmitter.
I can't recall at the moment but I'll have a look and get back to you if you don't figure it by then. Also what servos are you running?

I've never heard of iirc except maybe referring to another radio manufacturer?
So I assume you have set your radio in HRS, turned off the radio and turned it back on, gone to the second screen, scrolled to the F/S menu and tried to set the fail safe by holding the throttle brake where you like and pressing both + - buttons at he same time?

well it turns out i was at fault, not the rx or tx. instead of turning off the tx to check failsafe i was turning off the rx! ofcourse with no battery its never going to go into failsafe!

so tested again but turned off tx this time and it went straight into failsafe so very happy!

feeling pretty stoopid but pretty happy
