HI ,i have a problem with my marder i have just converted it to a 29cc and it fast. The problem is that say after 20mins i decide to turn my buggy off it won't want to start again. So i go home leave it, few hour later it will start and i notice that the bubbles keeps emptying and i don't know what that means .So hopefully someone out there has had the same problem and solved the mystery?
plug is new,new head ,piston and ring ,new gaskets and sealant allround,
kill switch is not jamming,
exhaust bolts are tight
air filter is looking clean :helpsmilie:

fg won't start after 1 tank

Hello mate yeah i checked the lines and they are fine and i don't have a fuel filter just 2 lines from the carb to the tank.I'm get frustrated when my mate stop his does what he has to do then 1 pulled and it up and away again:helpsmilie:

Do you have a new carb on there or could it be possible that there is a bit of shite got in there whilst it been off for the build? Also if it is running too lean & getting hot it may fail to start. Check cut out switch is returning - if not you will be pulling that starter all day long & it will sound like it not even trying to start as there will be no spark at the plug.

I wouldn't mind betting it is the white plastic plate between the bubble and carb,,,,,,there is a one way valve in it to stop back flow,,,,,that side of the carb has the needle & seat in it and doesn't really care where it gets fuel from,,,,,,if the one way valve is buggered it will get it from there first as it is the closest fuel source.

Do a test to see if it is that valve;;;

Prime it, then pinch it & tie off with a cable tie,,,,,then run it.

Then see what happens with the fuel in the bulb!!!!!!!

Hi guys i've been checking the parts and thing seem fine.Have striped down again have notice a bit of gasket sealant was inside the crankcase so i have cleaned it out, fitted new head gasket but no sealant this time and replaced the carb with a wt 813 chokeless haven't tried to start it yet nervous. Boost bottles are causing problem because i'm getting confused about which is the idle.Someone tell me it the L screw and someone tell me its pozi on the other side can someone please tell me?
The other problem will be to try to tune the boost bottles because when i start it up the wheels spin really fast so i adjust the idle screw (L) anti clockwise and not alot really happen and then it seems to bog down. The setting are 1 1/2 (h) & 1 1/4 (L) is that to rich or to lean with the dual boost bottles?
I would like to say a big thank you to one and all for your time, hopefully i will be out there kicking up the dust :helpsmilie:

L needle and H needle work independantly. L is for about the initial 1/3 of throttle, rest is the H needle. The idle is the larger head phillips on the side. H and L are side by side.. Tune the top end first to get it running right, then basically adjust the L to be as rich as it can be without stalling. you might have to turn up the idle screw too.

and try removing the boost bottles and plugging the holes... sorry to say but boost bottles are a waste of time and money and cause more grief than benefit

+1 pipe,,,,,I had a pair on mine and they made it near impossible to tune,,,,the only good thing about them I can see,,,,,is what I can see,,,,they look cool hanging of the roll cage,,,but that's it !!!

hi guys the next chapter in the saga.Removed boost bottles put the insulator block and new carb wt 813 chokeless on, its start up got the idle sweet now just got to sort out the starting problem.Checked fuel lines pulled them off one by one petrol came out ok.To get it started now i have to take the plug out pour some fuel in the head and it will start ? its cold here -1

with you not having a choke now on your 813:helpsmilie:

instead of taking out the plug and putting petrol down the hole:no:

try covering up the air intake/filter with a cloth ...and then pull the cord a

couple of times .....remove the cloth and it should start after a

couple more pulls:boat:this should give the same effect as having a choke
