my new evo

Hi All not been on here for a while....So thought iwould show my new
evo 08...bought it a while back of ebay with no shell or brakes..so ive added a
new Mclaren shell and the mecatech brakes all round....don't suppose if anyone Knows what diff it is do they???? i cant seem to find it.....

Looking nice.
I've a Macca GTR shell, and was told only the other FG air filter will fit, but was always looking at options.
Do you have any problems with that air filter fitting under the bodyshell?

No al this filter is super...found that it has about 10mm clearance. tried the f1 style (borrowed from renbar) and a mini kn with no luck....

That's great.
I was thinking it was just the other 'flat' one with the 75 screws to hold the 2 halves together - slight exaggeration but not by much!! Too messy.

yeah thats the one he borrowed from me it didnt fit to great to be honest but the one hes fitted now is great loads of room and its not hitting or to close to the roof

Yeah that one just caught the shell..tried it at different positions.

There's a Lauterbacher one that's very neat.
Should be for £50 !!

that wont fit al its far to high for the macca good looking filter though and good value was going to get that one myself but the carbon filter changed that

Thought it might fit - never mind.
The newer one on this thread looks like you get a bigger filter than the original '15 screw' one I have on my FezzaMacca.

I did think THIS was thicker than the one I had.
Know what to change to next time. The other's far too fiddly.

al how have you fitted the filter mate i used a jubilee clip and not the screws that go direct in the filter mount that bolts to the carb,,but its still to many screws and a pain for when filter cleaning is needed

This is where I should be shot at dawn, and why I hate this design and have been quietly looking for (as interesting as possible) alternatives.
I HAVE NEVER UN-SCREWED AND RE-CLEANED THIS FILTER - mainly for the pain in having to remove 75 screws, or whatever it is!!
Granted I've only run it perhaps a total of 6 hours on clean-ish areas, but that's not the point.
It's just such a pain to have to unscrew that much, AND attempt to line-up that blasted giant O-ring to re-seal .....

In answer, I followed the instruction and screwed onto the alloy bracket/throttle body. No jubilee clip.

Are you sure that Lauty doesn't fit?
Thought I'd found something.
Thought that CF one would do something as well.
Must be options.
One reason I suppose to keep the Ferrari shell on - that's quite a bit higher.

Still think perhaps I should have gone for that 'GT1' body - don't see it anywhere now - wonder why ....

if you look at the lauty filter its just to tall above the carb mate the one wagon has got is only 20-30mm high if that were as the lauty one is more like 30-45mm i think don't quote me on that but id hate to see you get one and come unstuck

Adding a roll bar...

so thought i would make a roll barr/ carry handel for my evo as it was awkward
to carry and for cosmetics...looks pretty cool what u all think... i used some spare body side posts and front body monts with 2 lenghts of 10mm alloy tube...
