My new TT

came across a new TT today I had to buy it. It's a v1 that has never seen a drop of fuel and came with a bunch of spare parts, and upgrade parts.

Hey, I have a brand new v1 with the upgrade kit and a Dominator pipe. Should I run it and do I need to do the upgrades before I run it? It appears the shocks bind so I imagine I need new ones. Any recommendations? Thanks

At the very least go through and locktite all the screws that thread into metal. The first most important upgrade is a kill switch.

Install the upgrades before you run it. It'll get you familiar with the vehicle, and it'll save you some headaches.

What kill switch and what is the purpose of the upgrades? Can I wait until I break the stock parts or will the stock parts damage the vehicle?

The kill switch will allow you to shut down the engine incase of a run away. If you have a servo failure you can kill the engine. If you can't shut it down you might have to wait until it hits something to stop. That could be catastrophic.

What radio system do you have? That'll determine which kill switch you need. The upgrades are just that, upgrades. It's basically an update kit. They've made changes to the MT/TT platform, and that kit will bring it up to date and resolve some of the issues the V1 had. Since it's a V1, I'm assuming the upgrade kit will bring it up to V2 spec. I don't think they released a V2 to V3 upgrade kit.

Yes, it will upgrade it to v3. I have a Futaba 3PKS. Can't I just use the radio failsafe? Tx

A failsafe controls servos what happens if servo go bad? The failsafe is now useless and you might be full throttle heading who knows where. The kill switch allows you to kill the engine in this situation.

A failsafe is useless if the receiver loses power, as well.
