I hate the oil soak filter and Outer wear set up and always have trouble keeping the filter good and snug. I have seen the HPI version like this but it leans at an angle and I wanted mine to look cool. Helps being a full CNC shop owner. I made a real nice fit around the filter cartridge and did a 3D surface that interlocks into the sealing bead on the filter. I know one problem can be crushing the filter and ends up loose so I made the spacers so it will hold tight but not crush. Now I can just throw on an outerwear and not deal with a grimey mess. What do you think?

Ill be surpriced if that filter don't kill the engine

That style is what I went off of. I wanted it to fit tight and flat in my MCD and they do not make it that way. The other thing I changed is that the filter has a O-ring groove on the ends so I put a Male bump that fits the groove in the filter to seal any grit from getting in.
It is the standard filter for all larger weedwackers. Is there some reason it will kill a motor in an RC car?

There is so much more dust in s rc than in a weedwacker.
But i have not tryed it my self so cant really say no go.

Iv heard so many problems with that type of filter (paper) maybe good for road use only

Il stick with the trusty washable resuable foamie type and outerwear cover

I have herad of many problems with type air filter also because the paper will not catch the fine particles that the foam and oil will even with the outer wear but I hope it works great for you I run on dirt all the time so I know I would not trust it for that use.

Well maybe it was a waste of time but I'll give it a shot. I figure with an outerware and the techumseh filter and keep an eye if I find anything gritty on the inside will be the test. I wish Senad filters had made one that fit like this in the MCD. Would have been eaiser to buy one. Some of the guys on the HPI forum running the Senad say they go 20-25 tanks but we'll see. Maybe I should have tried to get a good foam/oil filter set up also. The gooseneck and filter that came with the RRV4 just barely had enough lip to get zip tie on and get it to stay connected well.

edit: I wish that I could find out for real about the filtering capability. Most everyone else on other forums post's that the paper will catch smaller particals and breath free'er. I only posted on this forum do to me fitting mine on a RRV4. Sure like it better than the 5T I had by the way.

I don't think it was a waste of time..

But most of the top guys that do race are running some type of foam filter setup
also its alot quick to pull 1 pin than 4 bolts when fitting a fresh filter in a race
