Hello my friend.

I have steelgears all around the car.
clutch=16
spur=48
layshaft=14
diff=48

But evertime i drive my car the clutchgear come loose.I have use loctite 243(blue) to the srews.
Last time when i run the car, also the layshaft 14t have come loose.:mad:

What should I do ?? Is it only my that have this problem ?

have you got flats on the end of your grub screw fixing,and are you using

steel screws and not stainless screws :D

you need to update your location

K....

ya, after grinding the bottom of those setscrews flat, I use red loktite on the layshaft and clutch gears. I got tired of them coming loose. it kills the spur and dif gear which ends up being expensive after a while. I'd rather have to drill out a stuck setscrew down the road and replace a layshaft gear than replace 4 or 5 dif crown gears.... not to mention I had a layhsaft gear hack a motor case up once.

Okey...so after you have done this,you have´nt got any problem with the gears ?
I saw that the elcongears have 4 setscrews, 2 flat and 2 pointed(sharp)
The flatscrews on level on the axelplane and the pointed sets i some small drillhole that in the axel.

as for the layshaft gear, you cn weld it on.i seen this done and did it myself and i haven't had a problem since.

I'm somewhere in-between, but can definitely sympathise with Dwarfy - not nice when you're trying to strip down, for a good clean, or change of ratio, when you've 'allocated yourself' a certain amount of time, to come to a standstill ... :(:(
Always use threadlock - hard (blue in my case) not permanent, which some call 'green', mine's red and sets VERY hard.
Al.

i had exactly same prob dude with a few of my grubs, a quick & simple fix is thread lock (blue) i think i used, never had a prob since, but before u do use threadlock.. be sure your grub screws are in good nick & haven't started to round off or you will have a nightmare loosening as & when the need arises!

if need be, just buy some new grubs for peace of mind :) & make sure you use the right size hex tools for tightening & loosening! :)

Now I have new gears assemble with Loctite 270 strong threadlock.And my own custom made gearprotection,witch is total close.
Yes..there are some more custom made things that I have done by my own.:p
I have a new body,but it is´nt painted yet.This one is worn out.
