Hi Guys,

I don't know if it ever happened to you but yesterday, I was driving my truck and I heard a noise that didn't sound good while at the same time the truck suddenly stopped! When I push the gas, the motor rev but the truck don't move!

I took off the plastic gear cover and usually if you manually turned the gear with your hand, it will move the truck but it don't! It (gears) just turned freely without moving the truck!

I'm not 100% sure that problem is there! Do you have an idea of what happened with truck? I appreciate any suggestion!

Thanks in advance, :D

It's not a complicated transmission, just follow the moving parts from the gearbox to the wheels and see where the link stops. Could be one of the set screws, the pin of a dogbone etc.

Start with checking the layshaft from the driven gear out to the center differential. If you do not see any movement at the center diff out to the front and or rear drive shafts but can spin that driven gear at the main gear assembly than the problem is at that shaft area. Good luck.

Ok, I have a look into that, thanks for the suggestion! Do you think just by what I described if its a broke part or just a setting (screw)?

The screws I mentioned are not settings, they tighten the drive cups that the shaft connects to and prevents them from spinning freely.

Hi Cycletech!

Thank you very much for the advice (information)! If the problem is with the shaft, do you think that it is just a "setting" or I will need to "change a part"?

The fact is that I don't hear loose part from the engine when its running and this Rampage (MT Pro v3) Truck is almost brand new, I was "break in" the engine by driving quite slow not too fast! Did you ever had a similar issue judging from what I described earlier on my first post (above)?

Again, thanks for the help! :)

Slowly roll the car on the ground with the body off. It should be reasonably easy to see where the transmission is not turning anymore, between the wheels and the gearbox. Then you need to loctite all metal-to-metal screws, or this is just gonna keep happening.

Has it happened to you before? I mean, driving your truck while suddenly it stops and when you push the throttle (increase gas), the engine rev but the truck won't move and you can see the gears turning!

Tomorrow, I will open it to look what's causing this problem! I try to get as much info as I can so I will know what to expect! :D

I will tell you what has happened to your truck.....the gear square behind the D gear the one that runs through the breaks to the center diff... The set screw s have come loose and is allowing your gears to spin with no go.. Pull the gear off and re set the square so the set screws are over the flat spots.

The only similar problem I had was losing my front wheel drive because the pin in the head of the dogbone going to the front diff came out.

The same issue just happened with my Chimera. The engine rev's but the vehicle does not move. The vehicle seemed to be high on rpm and was moving without me pushing the throttle. I still drove the vehicle around since I was just breaking in with the third tank. I just stopped the vehicle while it was running to reduce idle and then the vehicle does not move even though I push the throttle. Does anyone know what to do?

Hi Thanks,

Can you tell me what a drive cup is or would you be able to send me a pic or something to help further. I am pretty new to the scene. Appreciate all the help.

You have drive cups everywhere. On the diff side of the dogbones going from the wheels to the diffs and on both sides of all other dogbones going from the center "diff" to the front and rear diffs.
