I broke 3 CVD dogbone on my MT3...and got a new 4 CVD set. Put all the new CVD. Now after bashing a few minutes I broke my rear diff cups and the case. Waiting for new parts. I was wondering if you guys were I could find a durable drivetrain... Need help!!! Just bought MT3 2mos. ago.

Are you doing a lot of hard, on throttle landings? That'll put some stress on the CVD's and diff cups. If you're breaking the diff shaft, that can be tempered to improve durability.

I'm not sure if i did had throttle landing. I used 2 humps during my bashing approximately 12inches ht. My drivetrain started to fail when I put a side ddm dom pipe. I heard about hardening and tempering, but the problem I do not have the experienced and know-how of doing it. Did you tried this thingy? Can you share your expertise? I am really gratefull and appreciated your input with my problem. Thank you much!

One thing about CVD's is that it could look like the CVD housing is failing but you problem might just be that the pin is moving and disengaging one side. This sometimes just snaps the pins. Alot of the time the housing will snap since the pin is only engaging one side and the whole assembly twists untill something breaks.

Actually pins was my very first issue I encountered when I run my MT. I keep losing my pins or break it. I used local hardware store pins and even used nails, and drill bits. I contacted REDCAT with this issue they only communicate with me once and their gone. They left me hanging when I told them I used nails for pins, just to keep my MT running. But I resolved my pins issue. I put some loctite and checked my pins everytime I make runs. After the pins issue, hercomes my DRIVETRAIN, it broke one by one. 2 from the rear and one on front. I believe there were some SOFT AREAS in the other end of the CVD shaft, not the CVD joint area. Because all of the 3 stock CVD shaft that broken, it breaks in the same area, it cannot handle extra wt. and stresses. Hopefully the REDCAT make some re-inforcement and make their drivetrain durable. I like their product, its affordable. Infact I am planning to buy their 1/5 XB. Anyway, Hey! mate I like your DRIVEN BELT idea. Thank you for your input in this matter, hopefully you will continue sharing your experienced with issue, until I resolve this. I really love to run my MT, now im still waiting for the parts. Have a nice day sir!

FYI! After I put my 4 new CVD's set I broke my rear DIFF cups and shell. The DIFF CUPS breaks where the pins inplaced. Now my other rear DIFF cups had a crack on same area. Now I encountered problem with the internet dealer where I order parts for 4 days now my order still on processed. I contacted them many times nobody answered...its RUFASTER.com.
