i have finally decided to go with a KM Baja...but...have not decided which one...i will not have the money right away to afford a new motor...(which is why i am thinking KM vs HPI)...im not sure how to begin, so ill give it my best shot and try not to make a fool of myself...im still learning and still getting used to these threads and forums so i apologize if im taking the wrong approach...any advice is greatly appreciated!!

KM Baja ksrc-001 with 23cc

KM Baja ksrc-002 with 30.5cc

the only differences i see at the moment are the pipe, motor, tires

i like the tires on the ksrc-002 better, i have no clue about any pipes at all, no clue about the radio or if i should upgrade that right out of the box, and i have no clue what KM factory motor quality is...oil the inner filter out of the box, loctite every screw that is metal to metal, do a proper break in, check all the shocks, they come with outwears, and get a failsafe(killer bee??)

is the 30.5cc worth the extra $100? or should i get the ksrc-001 and put that $100 towards a different motor?

i want to order next friday...i have no clue what to do...and just to end it all i will say i like the look of the T1000/5T...just a personal preference is all...considered that as well, if you want to throw any words in on that option as well...

and if it helps, im not a racer at all, no local tracks anywhere near me, i run in our big park, has wooded trails and huge grass fields, very fun with my nitros! and usually nobody there...i don't bash too hard, cant afford fixing them alot so i do take it kinda easy on them...thanks again for any advice!!!!

Yes the 30.5cc is worth the extra $100.00 will give you more torque then the 23cc more power off the line. The radio that comes with it is great since you said you do not race it will do you fine it can hold up to 10 cars and the extra receivers is only $8.00. So the bottom line is get which one you like and can afford and enjoy. The 002 also comes with the wheel extenders which helps make the car wider so its more stable in turns. The 002 has the chrome roll cage which makes it strong if it lands up on its roof and not break spark plug caps or worse.

Fatbob....going though the same thing right now lol. After some help and two weeks of drooling and researching, I am going with the white nylon 2.0 30.5 cc from Dan on eBay. From what I have read and from others input the nylon plastic is supposed to be stronger than the normal stuff. Definately going for the 30.5cc. If I am going to drop the cash I want the power. You could always get the 23cc and then perform the big bore upgrade but I think it would cost more in the long run. Plus if your like me, you'd get it home run it for a half hour And say cool.....should have gotten the bigger engine lol. Hope this helps. I have found this forum a huge help and everyone here is great!

get the ksrc-002 , why? well the engine is the main thing, your going to need the kill switch first thing, second upgrade the servo's,anything else after that is purely up to you and your own preferences ,the 30.5 engine has the torque to kick up some dirt, and with the right gearing you will get some speed out of it,later today ill post up my Ksrc-002 but it's nothing like it came, my ksrc 3.0 is even upgraded to the teeth also, as some people told me they are "tanks" but even with all the alloy i have added i still get them to wheelie, so i'm happy with the way they are set up but also happy i did not overspend on the base models or buying a hpi because i would of did the same thing but spent more on the base model

its down to the ksrc-002 or the t1000...and thanks again for any advice or opinions!! everyone is alot of help on here its definitely helping me learn and gain good knowledge before i jump into the ring blindfolded! so next friday i will be ordering one of those 2! and most likely from ebay dan...so now that i have decided on which kit to go with....PIPE?!?! oooh god here comes a whole new conversation!! i need quiet! buutt...is there any such thing?! (without killing performance completely!!) i want the mielke side pipe...but they no more make those...supposed to be the quietest...im absolutely stumped!!!

step 1. find a solid wall
step 2. beat head against wall repeatedly until answer becomes clear!

Power and quite 2 complete opposite. Even a silencer on a pipe has power loss.
he is right, you wont find a powerful quite pipe without it losing some of it's punch, go to jetpro's website and look over what they offer, i'm sure other brands have some options as well,i don't know any other brands off hand since i did'nt spend alot of time looking for pipes, i just wanted a pipe that gave me a good start off the line and the power to go thru different types of surfaces, from sands to dirt to grass and the occasional black top.
either way have fun with it, your gonna get noise of some kind anyway

just curious...anyone know if the high volume 5T can is any good? iv read here and there that its not too bad...just sucks living in town and having nowhere to run thats not by houses...and i just cannot get into electric...just has to appeal to me at all!
