i have and older fg benz with a solo 23 cc engine thanx timmahh for letting me know what i am running but i need parts for it like metal spur gears and some exhaust or should i get a new engine the 23 runs a friend gave it to me only one tank ran out of it burned up the plastic gears but being on here reading post i think need moooore power i have a baja 5t one the way but i like on road more and i like speed would my fg go faster with metal gears and new exhaust and could somebody tell me what engine would fit and what brand thanx

Sounds to me like you should wait and see exactly what your new car goes like before jumping to any decisions regarding more power because the huge weight of these things changes your perspective about speed once you try and slow one down it is not easy and there is a much greater danger of harming people or property what sort of R/C do you have aslready it would be good to know to give us a better idea so we can help you more

23cc should go well on road. Change your gear ratio and add a tuned pipe & you should be able to get good speed out of it as it is providing that the engine is sound. As Tony says you also need to be able to stop it so front discs would be useful if it doesn't already have them. See how it runs then you can always tinker with the handling to make it more driveable. Have fun :cool2:

where do i get parts for this engine

what gear ratio should i use and what brand i cant find anyone that sales parts for solo engines made in germany is there other parts that will fit this engine let me know

the solo 23 is what I run in my avatar pic. I can outdrag a baja with an onb g260 race ported. you don't need metal gears. metal pinion, alloy spur carrier and plastic spur is fine. plastic spur is also quieter. my solo has seen many a gallon of fuel and still runs strong, the needles are just a bit different than a cy (l and h are opposite sides). tuned pipe makes a huge difference in power too

you need fg gears is all. same stuff fits. fg gearing always adds up to 64. a 24 pinion and 40 spur is stock for a touring car. or maube 22 42? I am running 20 44 in my semi but it has bigger tires.
