hi guy my throttle servo died with less then a month of use its a hitech 5745mg and the stupid place i bought it from is not helping and saying to contact hitec directly anyone had any problems or thing like this? and how the warrenty works??:helpsmilie:

whats a warranty? not in this hobby. it could have been many things that fried that servo. like your end point adjustment? or water damge.. but most likly your end points. thats why the "crappy" place you bought it said too bad. they have no idea how it was treated once you got it. if they warranteed everything they would be broke and you would have paid twice as much for that servo since they have to cover all the other servos that got freid from operater error
ps.. speaking of freid? my computer smells like its on fire..really. it smell like its burning!! oh no!!:helpsmilie:

Hitec in my opinion has a good service track for me. I have sent about 4-5 servos some new some years old and they have repaired them or replaced them. Just fill out the return page and send it to them: Hitec Service PDF

How Long is Hitec's Warranty ?
All Hitec RCD products are warranted against defects for a period of two (2) Years from the date of purchase. During this period we will repair or replace at our discretion any defective products. You should always retain your original receipt as proof of the date of purchase. Read the complete warranty text.

BTB... How much have they charged you to fix your old servos? I am about to send in 2 5745's and a 5955. 1 of the 5745's and the 5955 were because of water damage... The other was because it is slow and weak.. I am just wondering about price.

Krypto... My 'puter smelled like that the other day, then I realized, it was one of my burnt servos

Trip..

Believe it or not I have never had to fork out anything..:D

I always waited for the call for my credit card number for repair but it never happened.

update called hitec they said send it back and they will 90% give me a new one or repair seening as i only had it for month..

That's good to hear! Hitec apparently stands behind their products!! I bought some "Blue Bird" servos a few years back, they lasted about an hour and I broke the "unbreakable metal gears" ...Blue bird basically said, "Sorry about your loss, have a nice day" ...That's when I went to Hitec and have never looked back!

Trip..

^^ i hate it when you spend a crap load of money on a product and after you walk out the door and somthing goes wrong its like the store doesn't know you anymore poopy...but happens alot...

Anything I buy from my LHS is just like buying from ebay except more expensive. I bring it to the LHS a day later and they say "We can send it into the manufacture and see". Why would I pay more buying from my LHS to get the same service as someone I don't know off the internet?
I would love to keep my money in my area and feed our local economy but common!

ths is the worst part about R/C...stuff is supposed to get bashed so warranties never apply...i got real lucky on a losi lipo charger once, but that was more of a factory recall.

I've used Hitec servos for over 5 years on all my 1/6th's with no issues. If I did have any I know they would stand behind their products.

I have had good luck with Hitec fixing servos except once. I sent in a couple Multiplex servos I got used in a buggy that were both fried and they wanted more money to replace them than I could buy them new for. I told them just to keep them and ate the shipping charges

UPDATE I GOT MY SERVO BACK BRAND NEW!!
BUT.. i need help i installed everything and i don't know how to adjust the servo im reading the remote manual its confusing.. AND i tried starting my truck up and it wont start the pull start doesn't seem like its turning the engine over(really hard) i hope engine isnt seized, i removed the pull starter and it was pulling and retracking very well i don't know what else to do help.....

my throttle servos keep dying! 4 so far, and i was reading in here and you mentioned end point adjustment as a cause of servo failer. can you tell me more about that? I running a 1/5 scale baja

What type of servo are you using?
End points are just that, where the end of the pull or push of the servo horn would be. If its set too high then the servo struggles to go farther then it can and heats up. When adjusting brakes you should make sure it pulls but not over pulls. You will not be able to get a ton of braking out of a lower quality or low torqe servo.
A good servo can handle the pull on the brake set up on the 1/5 scales. If you have an inexpensive servo doing the same thing it will heat up and pop. It is because of the great amount of torque it takes for the servo to pull the rod on the brake set up that amounts to the burn out. Another way of burning out stock Baja throttle brake servos is to have the failsafe set to full brake. Make sure you set the servo to slow not full brake. Better yet get a pico kill switch and set your electronics for failsafe on neutral that way if you forget your electronics on it wont burn out the servos.

I have been getting hi torque servos (208 ounce) but they were cheap from hong kong , the last one I got off ebay from a guy called cheapservoman and that one was $38 and it worked for about 20 mins(He is sending me another one) but I think im gonna get a hitech servo, you guys seem to like those. and I just ordered a "killer bee" kill switch set up for my buggy (have you heard of them?) just hope it works ok with my specktrum

Spend the money and buy a Hitec 7955. At 333 oz of torque at 6.0 volts or 413 oz torque at 7.4 volts, it will about snap the brake linkage! You'll have brakes then!! That killer bee sounds like the ticket.
