Hey guys, I'm battling a glitch in my nitro t-maxx and could use your help figuring it out. It's an older truck and everything is stock except for the receiver(2.4ghz flysky) The truck has 3 servos, steering, throttle and reverse. The receiver power comes from 4 AA batteries.*

The problem occurs randomly. Everything will function normally and then all of a sudden all the servos die and I loose control of the truck. When it happens it's just like flipping the power switch off, the power light on the receiver even goes out. Things end up coming back to life just as random as they died.*

Here's a list of what I've replaced so far...

-batteries*

-battery holder

-on/off power switch

-receiver

-all wiring between batteries and receiver*

So basically the only thing left are the servos. Could it be possible that one of the servos is shorting out the receiver? Any other ideas of possible cause?*

Try disconnecting the steering servos one at a time and run it and see if that helps. If it does, either a servo is bad (The one NOT connected at that moment) or the three servos are pulling too much power and it's causing your receiver to brown out. A proper receiver pack would be better than 4 AA's.

also check end points of the servo trim/linkage.

try tapping on the rec, the antenna solder connection can break, and go to fail safe...did you set the fail safe?

I may have found the problem. I was working to the truck last night trying to figure out where the problem was coming from. As I was working on it, the flashlight I was using kept cutting it out on me. After smacking the end of it a few times to get it back on, it hit me. The batteries in the flashlight are the same as the ones in the truck, all out of the same Rayovac "value" pack! I thought "could it be so?" It was worth a shot so I replaced the batteries in the truck for a 2nd time but with Duracell instead of Rayovac. I tested it on the bench and had no issues, so this morning a ran the truck around for a good 20 minutes and still had no issues. I'm still a little sceptical at this point so once get some more run time on the truck I will report back. Deluge your probably right, a proper power pack would be better than the AA batteries. I've just never had a problem with it up until now.*

Yes end points are set and so is the fail safe. But when things would cut out it wouldn't go into fail safe mode, everything just died.
