Well, the Ramp took a very slow (3-5mph) roll over and the body shattered from the roof all the way to the bottom including the rear and side windows. Shoe Goo to the rescue of course with some tiger hair to stiffen it up (fiber class cloth). I just want to know which bodies are easy replacements? I was looking at the FG stadium truck (don't know if it will fit), FG monster truck (not liking the 2 piece for the front end) and the MCD bodies. Which of these hold up the best? I know whichever it is going to set me back around $150.00 after paint, accessories and shipping. I really like the look of the stadium truck with the spoiler but think it wouldn't hold up well with the spoiler. Looking for something tough enough to surive at least a slow rollover!

The Proline Desert Rat body has a 0.080 Lexan body with a 0.160 thickness at the rear mounts and of course there's the VS Modelsport Asgard body. I also am torn between these 2 choices.

iSN'T THE DESERT RAT body too long? I already checked threads here on it (the conversion kit for the Baja) and the wheelbase is too long. I like the Asgard but will it hold up? That's why it isn't on my list because it seems everyone is waiting to see how tough it is. I don't want to shell out that kind of cash just to find it is easily breakable.

the desert rat body is 30" long...tower says it's 35 but they can't use a tape.

Kun114 got one on his and it looks awesome...so good that I have one coming for my MT...it's also the thickest body out there, I reckon it'll hold up to my bashing. It was either the proline or mcd asgard as it's thicker than the vs one but also a tad bigger....clubin has an atomic and mcd one so he's the man to talk to about asgard...aparently the vs body isn't very thick like the mcd one

i have used the asgard and the mcd they have both served me well and my last mcd body actually has more tears and ripps than my old asgard. anything made from lexan is going to be better than the stock bodies.

This showed up yesterday after being backordered for many months.
First, I tried it on the Baja, but it just didn't appeal to me. I think it looks kick azz on the Redcat though. I cut about an inch off the bottom of the sides and slightly rounded the back edge of the front wheelwells. I removed the wing and used the wing mount to hold the rear of the body. I added MT body mount to the front. I also added a MT bumper to the front. Which sits just inside the front of the body. I slapped some paint on it last night and stickered it up tonight. I didn't have the front body mount bolted in in some of the pics, so the front sits too low in some of the pics.

YES, kun114 says it fits.....

I had a quick question about the stock shell - is the clear stock shell thicker then the blue and white one? My MT just arrived last Friday and the shell seams to be thick. The blue and white one seems to be one of the pressed ones like a stock revo or somethink like that. The clear one just seems to be flexible and appears to be thicker then .060

i got a clear mt and a pre-painted mt shell. the clear one is noticably thinner. both cracked on the first roll-over.

Yeah, mine that shattered was a clear that I painted. I ordered the Pro-line Desert Rat from Large scale . com. they were the only ones to have it in stock so it should be here in 2-3 days. Think I am gonna stick with the birght yellow but am going to add more blue this time.

Ok, thanks. I was just wondering. The lexan does feel different then the shell I paint. I just wanted to make sure.

Polycarbonate.
Man Rob, that amazes me. Polycarbonate is what most motorcycle helmets are made of only a LOT thicker. I'd definately splurge on a truck body if it was built as thick as my last Arai helmet! You could jump the Ramp MT and let it land on the roof without that breaking!
