It has been a while since I last posted. I posted in Jan. that I was looking to get a Rampage MT. Well I finally got one. I bought the MT v3 from my cousin for $150. He sold it to me because both the steering servos went bad. He bought one Hitec 805mg but it seems to be larger than the stock servos. So he didn't buy the 2nd one. With his frustration with the steering servos he called me and asked me if I wanted it for $150. Now I just need to a little help getting this thing up and running. Here are a few things I know I need or want to upgrade.

1. Screw kit (he lost a few when trying to replace the servos)

2. servo mounts

3. Aluminum cage

4. which steering servos will be direct fit or with little modding?

5. which model of walbro carb?

6. what's the best pipe for stock engine?

7. what's the best air filter upgrade?

Any help with where the best place to buy these items would great and any other suggestions would be appreciated also.

Thanks in advance.

the servo mod is really simple just use two of the mounting tabs that come stock on the mt ,top or bottom, whatever works best for you, than trim the other ones off use the holes in the new servo as a guide and drill holes in the servo mount smaller than the screws that come with the servo than screw the servo to the stock mount and your done. as for the aluminum cage save your money aluminum bends and stays bent the stock cage will flex and return to its shape over and over. as for pipe and carb i have a 990 and a ddm dom pipe and like both but this is just my 2 cents. hey congrats though you got a heck of a deal on your mt. enjoy!!

The hitec 805mg servo also seems longer than the stock servo. How can I adjust for that?

Screw kit, rcscrewz.com

Carb, warlbro 990 is most popular(gizmomotors.com is cheapest)

Aluminum cage, any red at dealer (I recommend rcpitstop.net)

I love my Dave's motors ddm dominator side mount pipe on my mt!

Many folks run the hpi filter set on their mt. You will need an angled velocity stack though.

Hope this helps!

Steering servo...

Hitec 5805 with the aluminum servo mount from Redcat. (This is what I run, and one 5805 gets the job done.)

HS-5805MG Digital Mega Servo, Metal Gear, Dual Ball Bearing (343 oz/in, .14 sec, 2.59x1.18x2.26")

Aluminum Servo Mounts for Rampage MT & TT

Carb...

Walbro WT-990 high-performance carburetor

Pipe...

DDM Dominator® Chrome Pipe for Redcat Rampage Truck/Buggy

Air filter...

Air Filter Set

Outerwears Drawstring Pre-Filter for HPI Baja 5B/5T Stock Air Filter

You don't NEED the Shreadstack, but it's nice to have.

Shread Industries Inclined ShreadStack (Velocity Stack)

So the Hitec hs5805mg over the hs5755mg?

The 5755 will work also. If you are going to run two of them you will have plenty of servo power.

Are both drop ins or will I have to mod the mounts? I will be running 2 of which ever I buy.

A single 5805 will get the job done. I've never used the 3306. It's about the same size as a 5805, so getting two of them to fit would be a challenge. The 5805 is stronger and a bit faster, as well.

You guys have been a great help. So far I have ordered the following:

Walbro 990 carb

HPI Baja stock air-filter

Venom 6v 5000mah hump pack

single servo radio/battery box

Hitec hs5805mg servo

Futaba aluminum servo mount

clutch w/ 8k spring

Friday I will be placing an order with DDM for:

Black Dominator pipe

Super Bee Kill switch

Carb diaphragm filter

Shreadstack Velocity stack

Outerwears pre-filter for air filter

Now, I'm on the fence about a few parts. Should I get the aluminum roll cage and is the Outerwears pull start filter necessary? I also want to get shock cover when I place my order with DDM but I am not sure which ones to get.

Thanks guys. I think I will pass on the aluminum roll cage. If I use the velocity stack to mount the air filter will that give me clearance over the throttle servo and linkage?
