in theory it should be OK, but i've never had an issue with the spool up speed of my motor so can't see thr point of risking it. might make the idle a bit lumpy too (there's a book sitting on my desk about flywheel and con-rod design).

I could imagine it would go out of balance pretty easily with a bit of a knock.

Wow...I never seen one that chopped down either.:w00t: I think it would be fine in a car since its forward motion is a good percentage of the cooling. I may have to try one of these some day.
