Hi.
Just a couple of photos of my 'new' ride.
The chassis is an old 'Evo 04', steering is used, engine, clutch, servos and bulkheads are new, .... plus powder coated 5-spoke alloys.
I 'refurbished' the cable brakes I thought were useless that came with my MT, of course fitted a Killer Bee Kill Switch.
The body's custom painted by the same guy who painted my MT shell - excellent job I simply completed with the window lining and the vent holes.

I had no idea if the Mielke pipe would fit inside the body or not - it was on offer at Hobbythek 3 months ago. It didn't !! :(
I ended up cutting 2cm off the exhaust manifold and it's perfect. The hose / jubilee clip is tight on the silicone tubing so here's hoping.

It does get fired up and used - unlike Keith's !! - but I won't be racing it or the wife will kill me for the repair costs !!

One problem I encountered is that the headlamp decals are transparent - not white backed.
Unfortunately, the painter had painted the lamp area, but I found a solution.
I have a couple of sheets of Parma Chrome Decal sheet.
I stuck the headlamp decals onto the chrome decal, cut out and this is what is stuck onto the body.

thats a nice car. don't be afraid to throw it on a track, they don't break that easy. i haven't broken anything from crashes on my sportline in the year ive owned it, all ive replaced is parts that broke because something wasnt right. of coarse worn out tires is another story...

I don't rate myself to race anyway.
Once released from the 'family clutches' I'll bring it along to Deeside.
I selected a G240RC (4-bolt) and it has a Lauterbacher 4-shoe clutch.
It's set at around 6-7,000 but takes off.

I was goign to get a bendy Stig to fit inside, but his legs would be where the rods are, etc. Shame. I might still try something. Bendy Stig is the right size, being about 11-12" !! :D:D:D

At the moment, it's only front cable braked, but that seems to work well enough, once there's some heat in the tyres.
No problem getting heat into the rears, which I'll have to ease off on :D:D as I start off by doing donuts and burnouts !! They can get quite sticky !

I asked the painter to cut out the centre inlet as it appeared to coincide with just in front of the air filter inlet - I was right 100%.
Also if you can see, the bottom of the centre 'duct' is cut out, which will relieve some heat there as well.
I wanted to avoid cutting the 'usual' holes in the windscreen, etc.

Hi Pablo, I daren't, to be honest. I'm not good enough - and I accept it comes with practice, but so do heavy bills.

It was out in front of the house today, blasting up and down.
I have to be a little more careful with the shell on!! :D:D:D:D
I'd had the engine and clutch for 1 week and it had already finished 3 tanks I think. It's now seen 4 or 5, so pretty close to run in. It's still a little rich (no bad thing) but has a new plug.

I definitely like the G240 4-bolt I must admit. No experience of the G230 to compare it with. With the use I make of it, I don't expect any problems anytime soon - but that's what McLaren thought about Lewis' new gearbox today ... :o:o:o

Keith, yours was a higher spec I know, but I was in the middle of 'the project' when you mentioned it's availability.
It came out OK, but in time, I'll have to upgrade the brakes. The front cable brakes are easily locked, but I've no braking anywhere else, which is 'fun' !!

best brake set up for on road i found was hyd front and cable rear;)

what was wrong with having 2 on road then ........

i still have my brand new dust cover body,and your gonna need 2 bodies

who does tour paint jobs for you and is he local and what kind of money does he charge.
im after getting a shell air brushed .

These are by a guy who goes under the name 'caci623' or something similar - his name's Pat.
He does excellent work and has some very good ideas and equipment, but is in the USA - so courier charges are high.

Here's one of each of the vehicles. His charges are very reasonable.

I keep on coming across 'Tels Shells' when I get the Radio Race Car magazine, who are based in UK, so perhaps they can do something as an alternative.
