The ones that give problems is the CY290 with that alloy head and some F270 the GP290 do not have any problems that I know of. The GP290 is what comes in the newer 5SC SS. I have 4 CY engines to this point have not had a problem with any of them. Two 26 one ESP ported GP290 I built and one I built using a OBR race ported 30.5

i think it was a lot of old stock c,y stuff that gave problems, i had a 26cc cy new out the box but form old stock it lasted 2 tanks good to hear they are using the new unit.

Yes many of the older CY had plating problems but they where suppose to change the plating procedure 4 or so years ago. But the CY with the alloy heads are still giving problems. Just seems they are a bad design. The F270 4 bolt has given some problems and others have many gallons on them. I have a CY26 that came with my 5b SS put about 10 gallons on it before I took it out to put a race ported 30.5 in and was running fine when I took it out. Still have it as one of my back up engines.
