why people insist on putting the big cc motors in a crap handling 2wd car is beyond me, a 23cc is already too much power for the tail happy baja unless your in the dunes
i don't think a 23cc engine is too much power in a baja, i have a baja with pipe and 23cc. just want it to be faster.
 
Dude I will be honest, I seen the videos of a tester with this motor, I would seriously question there Horsepower rating....

18 hp? Yeah ok, not from what I seen.

you can hate all you want bud. but to deny this raw power is crazy.

I am testing one here in the states.

well, thats wierd. the mmr pro mx 50(standard ported) had much more guts than this rc max. whats odd is chris(dawson 2-strokes) manufacture the pro mx for mmr.

the twins are a much better powerplant, bar none, imo. you didnt get rid of your twin did you?

Tuning this is different. And with the hot and humid weather we have in NJ, I try and run it on the rich side and still is a monster. I still have my twin tho.
 
lol, this thing sounds amazing.it is ridiculous, i like it. In one way its a shame these large engines dot fit in fg's. but on the other hand it just wouldnt take to a fg marder or fg baja. they are short compared to the 5t and a little lighter.it throws the 5t around so would imagine that a fg would constantly be on its rear wheels if now on its roof.. i think it would be better in a losi 5, could put the power to the road and make use of some of that torque but probably better fun in the 5t


these things are marketed at 18hp, again i know the thing with these ratings and have brought engines that were said to produce whatever power, but we all know that sometimes they are exaggeratted, i think that might be the case here too, eg, if the obr's , oddies, ccracing ,evo tuning etc are making 6hp ,is this really what 18 hp looks like? but i don't know , if i was to have guessed by the video,in this state of tune i think i would have guesstimated 10, or maybe 12hp at a push but thats not a bad thing because the engine rips and we can see the sort of grunt it has to offer ,its new on the market ,different pipes will emerge and im sure there will be improvements made over time .
it will be interesting to see how it fares against the mmr super 50 and obr twin.



i know these big boys shine at high speeds and are running well over 100mph now but it has that much power down low , that on tarmac upto 50-60mph(most cars gearing) a highly tuned 28cc or 30.5cc could give it a good challenge.?? maybe ??
i like it anyways..its a beast.
how many tanks had been done by the stage of these videos? who does it compare to the twin?

It would be cool in a FG. But the FG would not be able to withstand the power. And they are fun with smaller cc motors anyway.

it really can't be compared to the 50 or Twin. They are all different. I have never owned the MMR 50 and never will. I do own the OBR twin and love it. When I want a screamer out there, I fire up the twin, when I want something to chew up the earth, I pull out the 70. I am not sure on actual HP numbers, and really don't care. One has more then the other and when you watch vids and see a guy has to run smaller gears to get what yours is doing on a taller gear is proof enough for me.

I currently have 25+ tanks on it now.
 
wow, you don't waste any time. must be pulling vewry strong...it ripps in the videos and would pull crazy gears. i know the twins have broken 100mph and the bzm super 50 has achived almost 120mph,but this would do more??
what i ment by a highly strung 30cc keeping up on Tarmac is the 70 has that much torque that when you pull of it would wheelspin for the first few seconds and a tuned 30cc can hit 50 to 60 mph in 3 or 4 seconds.power to weight is important on acceleration and grip too. its a beast fullstop,no denying like you said , what does it weigh with this motor added??
i know on high grip surface it wouldnt have a chance against any of the big boys.

It is a heavy pig! :lol: running 28/46 gears and it just spins them all over the place. But it is a fun gear to run on this 70. Not sure on speeds with this yet! :w00t: but I will get it out and take some passes. The T is setup for Offroad bashing, but will change it to a on road speed tester. :cup-1:

When I yank the wheels off the ground with 28/46,,, :w00t: not sure if there are speed events like rossa? I will look into it tho. Or just do it for fun with a radar gun. I run the black bone racing gears now. I have slapped 32/42 gears on it, and I would need a airport run way to carry out the gear. It moves! No idea what the revs are? I'm really not a motor guru, I just like Bad Azz Toys!

id like to see it wot with those gears on a long tarmac space
 
Hi, I just want to say that spending that kind of money for that engine in 1/5 scale is a waste.I saw no fun at all in the videos.No control , Too many flips and rolls . Wheelies ,big deal.That engine is for one purpose only,Drag!Since that's all I saw in the videos.Show me what it will do in a course race with 10 other racers. You will never get up to the speed the engine was built for.And I bet you will be lapped by the second lap.And if you don't get lapped then you are racing just as fast as a 26cc.engine.From what I saw my Raco Jac-Rabbit will keep up no problem.It only has a 2hp engine.This is what that engine is meant for.cid_30-Copy.webp.No disrespect to the people that own these huge HP engines.I just see way to many of these wheelie and straight run videos and none in a actual race.Thanks.

I am sure it would get lapped. But I am no racer! This is a fun hobby for me and love to rip up some grass. Bring your jacwabbit in to a grass field and see who gets lapped. Not being disrespectful, but this motor is for fun, drag, and sand. Although it might rip Azz on a dirt oval with a good setup. What I see as fun you and some others might not. But everyone has there own opinion. But then again they are usually wrong.... :lol:

And on a side note, you made comment about only seeing straight run vids,,,,, isn't your car a straight line dragster? Maybe it's me. :w00t:
 
Yes ,but I don't take it offroad.I have 1/4 scale GN that race on pavement. I have Bajas and Jac-Rabbits for the dirt. If you have a buggy then drive it offroad.Not on pavement.Sure it's cool by yourself or with a friend. But it's alot better racing on a track. Anybody can go up and down a parking lot but its trying to harness all that HP on a track with jumps and bumps not just a flat dirt track.I'm not trying to get into a arguement.If someone is going to put all that HP in a buggy I just want to see what it will do on a track.
 
i understand what your saying mate but we aint all able to get on tracks so for most parking lots and footy pitchs are the only option
 
i don't think the engine was purchased to be used for racing on a track ?? i understand some people think its a waste of money but all that depends on how much the person wants it.
obviously a 26 will be better on a tight track but i think most racers that don't bash would say its a waste, for that reason that it will just be undrivable and hard to put the power down, it looks like its been used to bash.

in big areas like the fields and dessert i bash at, it would be amazing , thats where it would shine and eat 26's for breakfast.thats the point of this engine , i thought it was s that obvious that its not a engine made for racing that no one would mention it? but after all this i do agree with you , it has wayyyy to much power , you are totally right, but id like one of mine to have too much power too lol.
its alll fun and games its just a hobby, no serious stuff for alot of people mate, its just an over the top engine that for petrol heads that want the most i guess..
