as you know from my intro on forum, first question:
the rtr kit comes with 40 Mhz tx/rx, can upgrade to 2.4 Ghz system.

Which shall I go for, does not have to be cheapest, somewhere in the middle , a good performing set. How many channels?

Once you replace receiver in car with 2.4 Ghz one, what receivers fit and don't fit in receiver tray (Is this is called receiver tray?)

If you are getting a new set you may as well get a 3ch then you have more flexibility for options such as kill switches, lights etc. Futaba is probably the manufacturer to go for. There are mixed feelings about the Spektrum sets on here so that 'could' be a risk. The Ansmann set has good reviews for a budget set & seems reliable and its only around £60 :cool2:

I don't like the wheel sets so bought a Core RC 3ch stick set for £85. These are being distributed by Schumacher & its an excellent set, easy to use, feels decent quality etc.

Probably the best way is go to your local model shop & have a look at a few. You can tell a lot from the feel of the set and the controls. Then get yourself on the net & look for the best deal once you have made your mind up :D

Forgot to say that the 2.4 ghz receivers are the same if not smaller than older technology 27 & 40mhz sets so you will have no problems there.
