is it normal for a new km baja to already have been run? because my new baja smells like gas and the plug and piston is black.

They must test fire the engine as mine was also ran before receiving. There was a faint smell of gas in the tank and I found some 2 cycle oil in the exhaust port.

ya know i never really paid attention to it when i got mine, just swapped out the Rx pack for a larger mah DDM pack mixed up fuel put it in and fired it up and run it. no running issues

If the rear tyres are bald, chassis is scratched to bits and the front arm is held together with duct tape then i'd be a little concerned:lol::lol::lol:

thanks guys i have to go to the dr. and then i am going to fire it up! how do i mix the oil and gas in the km gas can ? do you just line up the number so if i have it up to the ten line in the oil side i should fill the gas side up to ten also or what?

i have a measure cup i pour the oil into to get the 5.12 ozs needed for 25.1

then pour in the empty gas can, go fill it up at gas station and shake it up good before use.

when it says lsn 1 1/4 turns out and hsn 1 1/2 out does that mean full turns? because i ran mine today and it ran good but the needles are like 3/4 of a turn out and 2/3 turns out from closed from the factory and it ran ok.but the temp of the engine was like 280f. is that normal?

3/4 and 2/3 ? !!
Wow, unless the thread on the needles is stiff, that's very lean.
Temp seems high, 'though never measured mine.

It always appears less than my nitro which runs at 220-240F.

Standard settings are 1 1/4 LOW, 1 3/8 HIGH from fully screwed in, without forcing / damaging.
All carbs are slightly different, engines and requirements as well, without taking into account wear.
My standard G260RC needed a slightly leaner setting; perhaps 1 1/8, 1 1/4, my Trevor Simpson seems quite a bit richer.

Your settings definitely appear LEAN.

Al.
