My 5B chassis has had many faces over the years. Time for something new, a little different. Kind of a hot rod dirt track style. Mocked up a cardboard body to get the dimensions and mounting points. Made the fiberglass body from the foam mold. Got the idea on a drive one day past houses being built. Saw the huge dumpster out front when they throw away the scraps. Saw pieces of the 1" thick form insulation sticking up. Stopped and asked if I could take some pieces, they said take all you want. Lowe's sells small pieces, but this was much cheaper. Its still in the working stage, more fiberglass and resin here and there, cutting and grinding to do. Something to work on during the winter months.

Nothing better than building what you want. How's the weight with fiberglass?.
As it sits its 3.5 lbs. Still have more grinding and sanding to do. Cutting out the windows and windshield should lose a little weight. Its 2 layers of glass, 1 woven and 1 mat, and several coats of resin to smooth things out. 3/16" thick and in a few spots about 1/4" for re-enforcement. I'd rather go a little thick, then too thin and destroy it in a bad crash and start all over again. That Kracken SX5 Sidewinder cage and body weigh 3.5 lbs, and with a modified motor runs pretty good, with this body should run about the same.
