Hey Yellowjacket,

Since this is your thread, I thought I'd run this by you:

Do you want to make this the official 'desert rat' conversion thread?

I say that because I'm about to post my conversion too and I'd like to post it here rather than start another thread seeing how it's the same topic.

What do you think? Others too, what do you all think?

mountingHi guys, as far as the thread goes what ever you want to do is fine by me I'm just here to share. Heavy, on the mounting I used the stock front and on the rear I used the stock holders but turned them over and swapped sides, slide the mounting supports that came with the body all the way down to the gusset and drill thru the existing holes and use the stock screws. This lets the front posts sit just above the rollcage support. I bought 2 nylon bushings from ACE 1/2" OD x 3/4" long then drilled them to fit the rear posts which takes care of the offset in the body. I ran the rear of the body flush with the rear bumper which made the posts spread just right to fit the rear stepup, I will attache a pic and hope this makes since.

My Desert Rat Conversion - LIGHTS :)

Here's my desert rat conversion. I put some lights in it too. There are two red in the back and a green one under the hood which you can't really see with the flash. My camera doesn't take good pics in the dark even with the added lights on. The lights are from the dollar store.

I've included some pics to show how I mounted the proline body, it looks like a funny way but it's what made sense to me at the time and seems to be working fine.

Also, my stock tuned redcat pipe cracked when I rolled my rampage so I added some high heat hose and re-routed the pipe to the back.

I havn't had a run yet with my new body, it's cold and snowy right now.

Vids later on.

I'm sorry for busting in here with a dumb question, but, Yellowjacket45 what are the red things on your rear dogbones? and by the way yours and heavy Chevy's truck bodys look cool, very nice job. Thanks

red things

their alligator clip boots that I'm using for cv boots and they seem to be working just fine but I still need some more runs to see how they are going to hold up. I have a thread about them but I think I may have deleted the pics so I could post some more.
