Hello everyone, I recently acquired a used FG Monster Truck and the engine will not turn over when I pull the pullstarter string. It simply comes out a few inches and then stops. I have not had the time to take the engine out of the truck, let alone take the engine apart to see what the problem may be. I'm hoping it's as easy as something being lodged in the pull string somehow, but if not I have no problems tearing the motor down to see how the internals look. If a rebuild is necessary that's fine with me, but can anyone point me in the right direction with where to get the parts for a rebuild online and what the right parts might be? I'm new to this large scale stuff and have no idea where to turn for answers, I'm glad I found this forum. I also pulled up an older thread regarding a bigger engine that might have a few answers to my questions. Thanks in advance for the help, I appreciate it! I'll have more pics and info tomorrow to post.

what size motor is it now? whats ur budjet? im doing a rebuild to a 28.5 from inovation hoby on a old zen 23 its 85 dollers, but thers a few other gasgets and odds and ends youl have to get. oneil bros has a 60 doller kit thats a 26cc, when i get more funds im getting a esp 27 that timmah told me about, thats the eng to get from what i read and hear. its ported and polished ballenced

I currently have the Zenoah G260. I think I'm going to take it apart and put it back together and see if I can figure out why it's locked up. I'm hoping it doesn't need a rebuild but if it does 100 bucks isn't a problem for the 28.5 kit. My budget is pretty much unlimited, if I need to spend 250 on a new complete G270 I don't have any issues with that. For the extra money I'd rather go with that than the G260 for 215.

Nope, I had no luck with that. I bought a cheap 28.5cc big bore kit on ebay and it runs fine now.

Good to hear you got it all fixed up.

Thanks, it's a blast to drive! I had it out in my friend's field behind his house (he's got some horses) and I was amazed with how much ground this thing will cover in a short period of time. Wheelies are a lot of fun too.

fg fan i have a brand new fg truck for sale look at my add thx

No thanks, in fact due to a few unexpected things that have popped up recently I am going to attempt to sell my FG in order to make things easier on me. I don't know what they're worth but I'm willing to let it go dirt cheap. I'll post an ad in the classifieds.
